any way to modify the hvac system for a stronger blower motor?

Every thing is in proper working order, however as im sure many of you know the blower motor in these cars even brand new replacement is terrible compared to new cars like the brand new cars I drive everyday.

Is it possible to fit a stronger blower motor from a different vehicle? or modify the stock one?

using the heat or a/c is often useless because it doesn't push any air than I could out of my own mouth.

any help appreciated..thanks

Sounds like something is wrong with your wiring, the motor or the ducting has a big leak somewhere. Mine all blow strong especially at full blast.

Strong is relative ..it blows strong for a 1986....blows just as strong as any thirdgen I've been in...or my 1989 blazer ...still nothing like a new car

I've noticed the same thing. My ac blows cold but cant cool off a car on a 100+ degree day if it blows weak. Hopefully there is a similar motor out there

I have had similar concerns, I wonder if its because our blower is fitted outside the cabin. And how long would a blower motor made for inside the cabin last on the outside

If I remove my ac and the resistor can I use my blower on high only for defrost.

Is it possible to get a resistor from a newer say later 90's gm product and it give the motor more kick?

That might work for for the lower speeds but I don't think it will increase overall power. If there was a way to lower the internal resistance of the blower motor itself.....

just some food for thought, A/C in these cars isn't what it is today. I remember bringing up with my father (used to be a GM mechanic) who told me this era of cars, the A/C was supposed to really only drop the temp about 20 degrees from what it is outside, which was the normal standard of the time. So if its 100 degrees, the A/C should bring it to feeling about 80-ish. these cars also have huge windows so that doesnt help cool it off.

I'm actually really satisfied with my A/C, it works better in the summer than my '09 Silverado lol
