92 B4c

Hey I have a couple questions about the 92 RS B4C, I know it has the l98 and 700r4, same drivetrain as the Z28 but i was just curious how many of these were made, and do they have any more power than the Z since it was used for police use? I may be trading my 86 in on the 92 because I love the L98 and this car is a lot nicer than mine...If someone could post the specs for a 92 B4C that would be great....Thanks a bunch, now I get to go to school..

Well I don't have my White Book with me at the moment, but I think there were 582 produced in '92.

The L98 in the B4C did not have any more power than the L98 in the Z28 but it came with an oil cooler and corvette brakes. I think it may have also had a better suspension.

But like it said, I don't have my White Book in fron of me, so I am just going on memory.

They made 589 of them. I live in the Mesa area. Which B4C are you looking at? I might have owned it.

The B4C basically had the same engine/drivetrain as the z28 but it also came with the 1LE brakes (dual piston 11.5" fronts, single piston 11.5" rears) and A/C. The B4C package was the only way to get A/C and 1LE stock. It also came with dual cats, a higher amp alternator, and some tranny mods (no kickdown, vette servo).

By "no kickdown" I assume you mean just from overdrive to 3rd gear at WOT. The car still uses a TV cable like every other 700R4.

There's a pair of 92 B4Cs for sale near me. One's got new paint and has been on the lot for close to 2 years... he's down to around $5500 now. The other one is a private sale with a brand new motor. Last I heard he was down to $4k. He wanted $8k last year.

Well i just got back from the dealer, i took it for test drive and it felt alot better than mine but i dunno if im gonna be able to swing it....if i traded my car in i would owe 3k and be paying 70/wk...the thing that scares me though is that it has 162k on the odometer....im guessing its been rebuilt because it runs and sounds way to good for that many miles.....they also want another 500 on top of my car, thats the biggest problem...I think i need to give grandma a call.....so does it sound like its worth it or should i just hold out and wait for another 1 to come along?

So which B4C is it that you are looking at in Phoenix? You can call me if you like any other info to look for on them. Let me know.

What is the color and options? You will never get a good deal trading a car in at a dealership. There in this to make money period. What is his cash price? I could tell you if it is a good deal or not. Auto or 5spd? By the way, i am at Ellsworth in Mesa.

What are they asking for it? There's a 107k mile one around here with brand new paint for $5,500, and another one with a brand new motor for $4k.

Way to high. That car should be bought at $2k. I have a buddy in Dallas that has a Tx Highway Patrol 1991 Camaro with 79k miles still black and white and will take $6k for it. Half the miles.
