I was wondering if I can buy a stock 8 speaker bose system(2 dash,2 kick panel,2 pillar,and 2 rear deck lid amplified and such) for a 88 Iroc.
When I bought the car the system was stripped, it only had the two back speakers on the locking lid.Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. John

 

I dont think there was an 8 speaker system put in an 88 Iroc. My 88 Iroc came with the factory "Bose Gold" system and it was just 4 speakers. They are the two in the rear package shelf and the two kick panels. These go for some good money on eBay, when you can find them. I just started to pull mine out to go with a larger system. When I pulled the dash pad off, there were foam inserts on the pad making me think that there were never speakers there. Also, I had to pull out the isolators from the stock 6x9 locations. Thanks for the info I just counted the speaker locations without a clue of how many speakers actually came in the car.

 

The factory Bose system only had 4 speakers. The 2 in the rear cover and the 2 in the front kick panels. The dash should not have anything and the side rears don't even have the mounting hardware for speakers. 8 would have been nice, but not during the 80's! They didn't start adding more speakers to cars until the early 90's I think.

 

I am pretty sure I have the Set the goes next to the back seats. But I dont know if they still work. Or if my Auld man is thinking about selling them.

 

If you have some that go next to the back seats, then, they are not the Bose setup. The Bose system was only in the rear and kickpanels. Also, 87 was the 1st year for the Bose system.

 

All I know Is that my Iroc is suppost to be Iroc-z Package 3 which had almost everything.

 

Which option was the option for the 5" subs and 4X6's in the sail panels?

 

Ok I just checked my codes & I do not have the Bose system I did have the UX1 system in my car. But no longer lol

 

I believe that was an option on the Firebird line only. I don't recall ever seeing these in the Camaro.
