I love the way they say "NEW".SO it doesn't have any miliage on it. SO does that mean that all of the seals are dried out and cracked and this thing will begin to leak every one of its fluids if you actually take it out for a ride? I suppose you wouldn't want to drive something with that few miles on it. Just lock it up in the collection. 42 grand, thats just a little steep.

Jeff, I can't sell my car as a low mileaged original anymore. She's over the hill. I guess I need to just keep it
Dang mileage!!!
Thanks for the compliments on the Camaro World article. They need my help at WCA with picture editing. The cover came out way too dark. They use a transparency for cover shots, so the photo should look next to perfect. Oh well.

Zedder, when I bought my '85 IROC back in Jan. of 2000, it had less than 2,200 miles on it. The original owner told me that most, if not all of that mileage, was put on it in the first two years, and that he started it up maybe three or four times a year at the most. The only problem I had with seals was that the rear main seal leaked about three drops of oil per month; and that's someting I could live with. I'm not saying that seals never go bad on a car that is stored away and never driven, but it doesn't always happen either.
Man do I ever miss that car. (sniff-sniff)
you know i tried to tell them the same thing with my article and they got upset......
it was just suggestions for future issues and they went and did similar things with yours.
o'well, at least we got em huh!

scottmoyer,
The last I read your 1987 had somewhere over 10,000 miles.
That would still be considered almost no or very low mileage for an 1987 model wouldn't it?
The avearge for any car according to State Farm insurance is 12,000 miles in one year.
So your car should have 180,000 miles.

Chet,
I turned 10,000 miles at Camaro Superfest in Michigan. Jeff was there and said that the car is now high mileaged because I crossed the 10k landmark. We're all just kidding about it being high mileaged, however, in comparison to yours......

Too subjective ...
Any car is only as much as someone is willing to pay for it...
Somewhere in the world there is probably a person who would give the seller $42k for this IROC. I certainly wouldn't. It's just not worth it to me, but that's just my opinion.

With the Camaro gone, and the prices I'm seeing on Ebay for low mileaged Camaros, I'd say that this car is probably worth $17-18k.

Yep, same car. He replaced the fuel tank because he was recommended to by the local dealer. They said the sludge in the bottom of the tank from sitting so long could damage the engine. The fuel pump was also submerged in sludge. Moisture started to eat away at the tank from the inside out. That car was identical to mine except it was black. I have a copy of his window sticker, and it matches mine.
