overhead console W/t-tops
Will an overhead console from an 82 - 92 f- body fit in an 89' iroc with T-tops. The guy selling it on ebay says yes, but I want an unbaised opinon, also if so was it ever offered from the factory.

T-top overhead consoles and hard top overhead consoles are different and not easily interchangeable. You need to know for sure whether the console your bidding on came out of a T-top car.
They were a factory option from 84 to 87.

The T-top overhead console has more of a curve to it than a hardtop overhead console.
My understanding is that a T-top overhead console can be made to fit a hardtop by cutting away some of the curve.
HOWEVER, it is also my understanding that it is nearly impossible to make a hardtop overhead console fit into a T-Top car.
Do a search on the body and interior board this subject has come up many times there.

Here's an old post of mine with pics that will explain the differences between the two types of consoles:

Thanks to everyone for all the Information. I'm going to put one in my 89' IROC. I expect I will have to drill and tap some holes since it was not offered for my year. I found someone selling the mushroom bolts on ebay. Would it be worth it to buy them? I think I could make something close out of washers, nuts and bolt.

I wouldn't be terribly surprised if the holes were there--GM can be slow to change. From the pics I posted, you should be able to fab something up that would work.
