90-92 Firebird switch panel

I was wondering if any 90-92 Firebirds ever came with the panel for the switches above the radio/climate controls, without any holes for switches in them (1LE cars maybe) right now i have one for a 3 switch panel that i put in cause i was gonna wire a fan switch to the fog lights and install a rear hatch release (which i have recently decided against)
Stock my car had just 1 for the rear defroster i plan on putting on a rear window w/o defrost (which looks cleaner in my opinion)and wanted 1 without any holes.
Did gm make one or does anyone have one for sale?
Thanx

Hmmmmm... Well mine only has the switch for the fog lamps. And it is a vert so no defrost/wiper stuff. So if someone can buy a vert with fog lamp delete (if possible) then it would have no holes in it, which would mean they made one??? This is a conjecture on my part though.

Laters,
Conrad

There was a panel with no switches, but it still has a flat divot where the single switch would have been.

Try GM first, if its still available, its probably less than $30. Otherwise if you get desperate the local junkyard HAD one, if its still there I'll snag it for you.

Re: 90-92 Firebird switch panel

Well, here it is 3 Years later, and I am finally getting my non defrost rear hatch glass tinted at work (gotta love working for a custom car shop) and a new rear decklid painted, so.......

Was there ever a switch panel made without any switch holes? And if anyone knows for sure, do you have a gm part #? I have a 90 Firebird parts and illustration manual, but I did not see one in there, but I figure one could have been available for teh 91-92 cars?

Otherwise, I was thinking of using an extra Fog Light switch I have as a manual fan switch, than it would look factory

Re: 90-92 Firebird switch panel

I would imagine it was possible. As a Formula which did not have ground effects therefore no driving lights, optioned without the rear hatch defog nor the hatch release would not have had any switches.

here ya go, it does exist... try a dealer, tell them what you want it might be available new.

Re: 90-92 Firebird switch panel

Ahhh, so they do make one, sweet!

Thanks for the pic okfoz, I am going to check with my local dealer this week, and see if I can get one. If they are discontinued, hopefully there is one sitting on a dealers shelf somewhere.

Re: 90-92 Firebird switch panel

I think its discontinued. I have an April '95 edition of the '82-92 Firebird Master Parts microfiche and there is no part number listed for the blank buttom panel. The one, two, and three buttom panels were still available back then.

Re: 90-92 Firebird switch panel

The switch panel on my 91 has no controls at all, no rear defroster or hatch release.

I didn't know that was uncommon.

I'll try and get some pics up.

Nice!

Thanks for the pics, I will be copying those to my Hard Drive when I get home form work.

I really need to get me one of those now, to install when I swap my rear hatch.
