Are you talking about the underhood insulation?

I was quoted 90 bucks Canadian from the local GM Dealer. Though I decided to just not use it.. stays cleaner in my opinion..

I know the GN & GNX and even the T-type Buick Lesabre's had printing on them. It almost looked like they painted them. I am not sure how, but I always thought it looked good.

For a show car I think its awesome, but for a driver I think it would be a waste, just because if it gets dirty, ther is almost nothing you can do short of replacing it.

The insulator is kind of 2 fold.
1) its used to lower the noise from the engine.
2) in case of excessive heat it keeps the paint from getting too hot and yellowing. Seen it.

I was on the same boat as miacamaro ,I opened a same thread and many members told me to take it off.many of them said theyve run 5 years and some with out one and there paint never faded.I dont mind the noise though.I am gonna get one soon .I called classic industries in huntingon beach and they said they only have the 82 bulged hood kinds of insulations.

I'm with him.

I wouldn't mind a little engine noise insulation just so my paint doesn't start turning yellow. Come on, you know how hot these cars run.

Anyone have GM part #'s for an 82-84 T/A bulge hood insulator? (With functional bulge).

Is the Formula one the same?
