I noticed the material on my 92 Z28 convt visors is starting to sag a little. I guess with the visors tucked up, gravity eventually got the glue. My advice is to let the visors hang straight down, like you would use them if the sun was coming in the windshield. That way neither the top or bottom is horizontal to the ground.

Good tip, Rob.... Does your car's door upholstery sag in cold weather too... only to tighten back up when it warms up? All of my GTAs do this.... I was just wondering about others....

My 92 Z28 has leather interior so it got the red, vinyl door panels so no sags to this point. Just trying to keep the interior from fading.

Good luck there...my RS interior still looks perfect, until you put the headrests up and see how grey the Custom Cloth USED to be

At least 4th gen t-top cars have sunshades. I am the only person I know who uses them (people especially laugh because I have the 30th white leather), but anything that keeps the sun out helps.

Has anyone located an aftermarket supplier for third gen sunshades?

Jason,

There are shades for 3rd gens, I found mine on Ebay, a couple of the guys in the crew have em too. Im not sure if there is an RPO for them. I see some interest already in making replicas.

Also the sunvisors on a 'vert aren't the same as for a coupe. Those in the picture aren't for a 'vert. My passenger side employed the "vertical" orientation trick all on it's own every 5 minutes while driving. It's fixed now thanks to a lil epoxy.

Some of the ttop shades are still available from GM, but they're about $100 a side according to my parts guy. I've got a set of gray ones in my 91 Firebird that are complete down to the backing still on the velcro pieces, but the fabric has fallen just like the headliner. I plan to make clones in the next few months as I redo the interior.

I have the factory sunshades for the t-tops on my 92. The velcro was used, but has since been worn out. It is amazing how much cooler the car is with the shades up instead of removed.

I thought all 3rd Gens that had CC1 came with the inserts. I still have mine and they do not sag at all, niether does the headliner. The car also spent about 2 years sitting in the sun under a car cover and it has 93K miles on it now. Also, I dodn't know that they used velcro. mine don't have velcro, they just fit into place nice and snug, there is now way they would come down unless you removed the T-Top. Good tip though for when I finally decide to park her and only drive her once in a while.....
