I have been into 3rd gens for years and I have never in my life seen a RPO 1A3 1984 Olympic edition Camaro. Pictures are hard to find, I have probalbly only seen 3 different lousy photos of the car in my life. Another IROC enthusiast agrees with me that this is the rarest 3rd/4th Gen Camaro in existance. Not in production numbers, because I know there are vehicles that have a lower production number, but in it's illusiveness. It seems that they have all disappeared. Production number for RPO 1A3 is 3,722, far more than the 633* 1993 Indy pace cars, but I have seen many 93 Indy Z28s in my life and not a single 1A3. Anybody care to share their experiences, photos, or information?

*I say 633 but I have seen production numbers of 633 and 645 so I don't know which is right.

I saw one sitting in someones driveway a few weeks ago. They are around...

I was driving along, and spotted it and said to my self "Neat an 84 Olympic edition Camaro". It looked to be in pretty decent shape.

Not that this helps...
The mom of a kid I went to grade school with had one. I was about 6-8 years old so my memory might be a tade fuzzy. I remember on the B-pillar there were the olympic rings and a "USA" above them. The car was white with light blue pin stripes I believe there were some sort of stripes on the nose and / or hood of the car. I'm pretty sure it was just a 6 banger also. I never thought it looked good but to each his own.

They're out there. They aren't the most desirable as they were mostly just a decal package.

The 93 Pace car had a 645 count. Here's how they broke down.
645 total:
12 destined for Canada leaving the 633 for US.
125 Festival Cars
158 hard top coupes
The rest were ttops. All were optioned the same.

Re: 1A3 Olympic edition Camaro. Ever see one?
I got one about 2yrs ago for my first car, I only paid $700 for it and at the time I didnt know how rare they are. I'm restoring it now and its goin for paint this spring. The only thing different about it is the 2 stripes around the bottom and it has a blue interior. Mine is a 6 but they also came with 4's and 8's.

Reminds me of the "Spirit of America" Novas. I think in 74. White with blue and red decals. My brother had one a while back but it was beat and traded it for a steel crank 400 motor

12 in Canada? Geez, and I recall seeing at least 2 of them. Funny how rare cars aren't always that rare.

Nice car! Glad to hear you are restoring it.

It is kind of ironic that it's been over two years since my last post in this thread. That was the first and only Olympic 84 I've seen in person.

Doesn't seem like it would be hard to make a clone

I'm surprised people arent cloning these cars. This is the only one I've ever seen. Dose anybody know where to get the graphics for it? I wanna get them before paint just in case I gotta have them custom made and Phoenix Graphics dosn't have anything for the olympic edition. How much do u guys think a restored one is worth now?

Re: 1A3 Olympic edition Camaro. Ever see one?
Worth only slightly more than a regular Camaro...

Honestly MOST collectors may be interested in a car like this for a museum piece or something along those lines, BUT it would not have the stigma of one of the 4 ASC IROC Convertibles with the 350. The down side is someone could easily clone the stickers for around $100.

Ultimately there would be no huge stigma of owning one, and unfortunately most people seem to overlook cars like this.... Consider that there was nothing special about the drivetrain which would make it stand out. When things like this come up, I have to listen (or read) peoples comments, "it was a Sticker package," or "A what?." On the other hand, if the package was only came as an SC but was available with the L69 Engine, that would make it really special IMHO. Unfortunately the car did not come with the L69 optional engine, so that leaves us with more or less a decal package.

It is kind of like my Formula 350 Vert... to me it is really something special, 1 of 42, BUT it was not technically offered by Pontiac so it does not quite hold up to the standard as if it was. Even though it is identical to what it would have looked like if Pontiac did offer a Vert from 1987 - 1990, as ASC made the official Verts... Go fig...

One thing that I think hurts an interesting piece like the Olympic Camaro is you have other cars where dealers will do similar decal packages. I know that locally there have been "Buick Open" cars but they were nothing more than a dealer decal package to celebrate the "Buick Open..." Personally I wish they would not do it, but I think some of the cars were driven by PGA Golfers while they were here as a courtesy car...

As for the Olympic Camaro... There is one around the Flint Area, maybe more than one. I have seen it on several occasions, not lately tho.

In several places he mentions the car has 68,000 miles, now it's showing 63,000.

Careful now...

My brother saw one in Hattiesburg, MS a year or so ago and sent me a pic of it and I didn't think too much of it didn't even save the pic. Looked kind of like a base car to me.

Re: 1A3 Olympic edition Camaro. Ever see one?
I actually just bought one but some took those tacky stickers off. It's 63k mile all original car. Needs a bit and a V8 and a 4 speed lol looks pretty clean. Can you tell by the vin if it's a 1A3? What's the value here?

Re: 1A3 Olympic edition Camaro. Ever see one?
Is there some marking on the above car that makes you think it's the olympic edition? If not, then it's just a sport coupe.
