I wouldn't worry about it. It's only rare by the numbers. Not rare by desirability. It really has no value at all.

I'm sure anybody could compare their RPO codes to all other cars and say it was "One out of 2 EVER MADE!". Its all about desirability, not necesarily numbers. Small production numbers do HELP if the car was desirable to begin with, however low production numbers usually do not make a less desirable car suddenly desirable.

Yep, sounds like the car was a piece. Sure, they didn't make many of them, but that was for a good reason. Hardly anyone wanted one in the first place. Look at how many 1st gen 6 cyl Camaro's are still around. Not many. Are the ones that are still around worth anything? No. Most have sbc conversions at this point. Now, compare prices of those cars to their factory V8 siblings, and we get an idea of what will happen to future prices of the abysmally slow Iron Duke cars in relation to Z28s and such.

iron duke had no place in camaro

if the 2.8 camaro wasnt slow enough, the 4 cylinder camaro was a joke, an oxymoron. if i had one that was mint i would rip out the engine and trans and at least get a 305. not that there is anything wrong with a 2.5, i had one in a 6000 and a citation. it was ok in those cars and aside from being slow even in those small cars, i can only imagine how bad it would be in a camaro. the camaro is alot heavier than GM A body, x body, ect. the word camaro is supposed to make you think performance, and while GM did a great job most of the time occasionally they had a complete dud. who ever thought of the iron duke camaro i hope they got fired from the design board.

I came across one of these 2.5 Liter camaros in a JY about 8 or so years ago. Before i knew of their existence and was quite puzzled. At the time i had an 87 SC 2.8, and i couldnt figure out why anyone would ever want a 4 cyl camaro.
