because of the rarity i do believe that it would go up in value, good luck finding one though

Actually, compared to other similarly rare performance cars, I don't think they are that expensive. Didn't one go on eBay within the last year for like $30k or so?
Way too rich for my blood, but when you see the bloated, nauseating prices for cars on the BJ auctions, it isn't too bad in comparison.

I would pay 30k for one if I could convince my wife.
To a car enthusiast or perhaps to someone who is obsessed with cars, it is a small price to pay to have something that NO ONE in the same city has. Huge brembo brakes, aluminum block, T-ram intake. I would pay the price then I would probably have to live in it.

I would spend even more then 30k If I had it lol 30k is not bad considering their were only 26 built I doubt Ill ever own one but I can dream
The prices aren't all that unreasonable IMO. I would pay $30K for a 5K mile one. Not even as an investment because cars really aren't a good investment for the most part. But just to have the ultimate Third-Gen Firebird. The pinnacle, so to say.
I would like to get one in a few years, hopefully one will be available...

Typically I have been seeing them go for around $25,000 to $30,000...

I sold mine (car #002) for $24000 in Dec. 2005 and now that same guy I heard is trying to get $30K for it.....I think they are worth anywhere from 25-35,000 depending on options....Like car number three I would pay 35,000 in a heartbeat, whereas my old car (since it DID NOT have all the options) I would only pay 25,000 for if I had the chance to)
I think these cars have GREAT potential to be very valuable in the future, but not anytime soon...give it 15-20 years....$100,000+

I think GM has #1 thats the one that will be worth over thirty right away. Also I am looking for one but i am a poor college student at the moment. But i intend to keep my eyes open for one.

#1 was owned by SLP until around 2000, then it went into private hands, I do not believe GM owns #1. Although it looked good, it was not a show car by any means... I did see the car at the Trans Am Nationals about 3 years ago though.

Even when I looke at it at SLP in 1998 or 1999 it only had 14,000 or 17,000 miles but it looked tired... I remember my dad saying that it looked like it had been repainted, but I do not think it had...

ONe of the problems I forsee at this point in time with these cars is the price.
The car is worth every penny of $30,000 in my opinion.
Unfortunately there are few people with that kind of money to spend on a toy that are interested in that particular car. This creates a very small market... Fortunately there are very few cars to go around. So it actually evens out in the end. If I had the money to burn I would get one too...

True...but I'm having more fun and satisfaction putting it together and it's going to out perform at least in acceleration with a crate, Stealth Ram, T56, 3.73's, and a few tricks here and there.
Plus I will enjoy driving it and not have to worry nearly as much about putting miles on it or if it blows up.
I'd love to own a real one of course...it's my favorite F-body, but unfortunately I'm no collector with money to burn.

Man I would love to get one, but to drive it! The market is dead on F-bodies though, look what happened at B.J. when 2 of them were offered, they went super low. It all depends on who has one and who is willing to spend.
Another factor is age and replacement. I bought a standard '91 Formula back in decemebr 2002 and it has been nothing but replacing this and that constantly and the car was a garage queen when I bought it with 8900 miles. Andy

THe only Firehawks I am aware of at BJ were about 5 or so years ago. 5 years does wonders for the value, especially when a GTA goes for $30,000 and a 1LE camaro goes for $40,000... I think in no time a Firehawk will get what they were originally stickered at.
