85-87 Iroc Special Edition gold and red?

Hey, I found an Iroc near me, it's for 1250$, 305, t-tops, auto, red and black interior, with a red and gold exterior. The gold is metallic, and I'm not sure if it's factory. it's got what looks to be a fiberglass hood, Z28 style, and a bunch of other things. The floorpan is rotted out, and the body is really wavy, but has anyone heard of something like this, or is it something someone made in their garage?

All z28s were two-tone from 85 to 87. It sounds normal to me. Without pictures though we really can't tell you if the colors and stripes are correct.

If you have access to it, can you grab the RPO codes out of it? If the sticker is still in the console between the seats or in the rear storage compartment, and if the VIN on the sticker matches that of the car. That would tell us almost everything you want to know.

I've tried to talk to the owner, I went over 3 times, and he still hasn't come outside. It would be a nice car to fix up, but the trunk, and floor is just toast.
I forgot to mention, but it had center caps on all 4 wheels that had S/E Special Edition.

S/E Special Edition caps are the generic replacements you get from JCWhitney and the like for $20/set. Nothing special.

Run away from rust... Just run.

Ok, I was just wondering if they were something special.

They can be referred to as a gold edition to some people but there was no such thing. Some people just try to make their car seem special.

The Iroc could be had either with silver/argent wheels or gold wheels, the trim was usually matched to the wheels. It's not like one color was more special then the other, it was just one or the other.

But not if it's an IrocZ. Their ground effects were always the same colour as the body.

PS; There were never any gold IrocZ's made for any year (let alone with red trim). Or is Red the dominant colour with Gold trim?
FYI, the closest body colour to Gold was Yellow/Gold offered from '85-'87 (the correct years that we're talking about), but it looked like this .

That's right. It's like saying mine is the Red Edition. Or the Grey Edition (if referring to the interior).
