If it has the RPO sticker and wasn't ripped off, it will most likely be on the inner lid of the center console, be careful though, those lids are very common to break so it may have been replaced, meaning that sticker is not the original one if it was replaced, which will have information about a different camaro.
When you open the center console, the sticker will have the VIN of the vehicle it came in, printed at the top. Make sure it matches up with the VIN in the corner of the windshield.
And as Drew said, the RPO Z28 will tell you it is an IROC-Z28.

Being an 89, If the 8th digit of the VIN is a F or 8 it's an Iroc since the TPI wasn't offered in the RS in 89. However if it's VIN E it could still be a Iroc or a RS. Vin S would be a V6 and RS only. Of course the rule changes from year to year so this only applies to 1989.

ok well it was an 89 iroc check the RPO code and it had z28 also checked the vin and it has the 8 for the engine code. Its a nice ride all black with ttops needs some minor work, no rust made in Van Nuys, he got it for 1300. Ill try and get some pics. the only ugly thing are the wheels lol
