Can I find these production numbers (How Rare)
Can I find these production numbers (How Rare)
I have the Camaro white book, and I have looked on-line some, but i don't know if you can find this much detail regarding build numbers.
I have been looking at purchasing a 1991 Z28 convertible 5speed car that is white. I would love to know how many "white" convertible 5 speeds have been made. I feel I can "estimate" this by taking the 3203 V-8 that were build. Then essentially apply "averages" to those 3203. Their were 100,838 camaros built in 1991, of those 85,321 were auto, which means 15,517 were manual, so 15.3% of the 3203 convertibles "on average" were 5 speed manuals, so 480 cars. Then their were 18,313 white camaro's out of the 100,838. So about 18% of all 1991 camaro's "should" be white on "average". Taking this principal and applying it to the remaining 480 v8 convertible 5 speeds would mean "as an estimate" that their were 86 white convertable 5 speed cars that were V8 Z28's.
Is their a more accurate/specific way to get this information, or is this about as accurate as I'm going to get as far as determining the exclusivity of this car?
Thanks in advance.

look under the convertible section you will find threads regarding 91 verts production numbers and see the link for Comp Nine thats there it will help you obtain info your looking for
Re: Can I find these production numbers (How Rare)
You can try entering your VIN into the Compnine's VIN database at http://www.compnine.com/vid.php
It is important to note that Compnine has almost 98K 1991 Camaro VINs in their database, which makes it nearly complete but not 100% complete. I don't think there is any, more complete, source for this question.

In case you don't have the VIN, if the RPOs in question are Z28, 10U(white) and MM5(5-speed), then the figure appears to be around 120 units.

The Compnine database is about 90% complete for 91 & 92 Camaros... So there is no scientific exact number at this time, but its pretty close...

According to the Compnine database, they have 8,255 1991 Camaro Convertibles in their database. Our tech articles state there was a total of 8,532 1991 Camaro Convertibles. Either we're off, or the Compnine database is missing some 1991 Camaro Convertibles in their database.
However, of those 8,255 1991 Camaro Convertibles they have in their database, about 120 units are equipped as Z28, white and 5-speeds.
As John pointed out, and as I noted twice in this thread, please know the figures are not 100% accurate as the source is not 100% complete. I'm not aware of any source that is 100% complete and 100% accurate and I don't think it will ever be unless GM releases their records to the public, and even then, it's not uncommon to have discrepancies. Checking with our website, and Compnine, there is a missing 3,005 cars in Compnine's database for the 1991 Camaro. We show a total production of 100,838 1991 Camaros while Compnine database has records for 97,833 1991 Camaros.

I still like the traditional response... No one kept track. It's the truth, no one kept track of option combinations.
GM did catalog SOME invoice information and RPO lists in the computer system for dealership use. Compnine's website takes that raw data, and TRIES to determine exact figures, but since the information isn't 100% complete, the numbers are general. It's not 100% solid, but they don't care because it's just for entertainment anyway.

1984 z28 t-top 5speed.anyone know production number's.I heard it was rare?I know it a old post.
Re: Can I find these production numbers (How Rare)
Nope. Nobody kept records. The fact that the car is almost 30 years old now makes it rare if that's what you're looking for. There are very few "rare" third gens.

what year. just trying to make sure before I sell. as its original E 55,000 miles on the car
Re: Can I find these production numbers (How Rare)
Are you asking about rarity so you can ask more for the car? The only thing that made the 5 speed "rare" was that most people bought automatics. It doesn't add any value. The word "rare" means nothing. A factory pink Camaro would be "rare", but it doesn't mean there is any additional value to it. Also, in the early years, a car with just an AM radio is rare, but is it desirable? There is no value in the term rare. It only means that it was limited in production numbers for one reason or another.
