Was there a aftermarket company that made hideaway lights for a third gen camaro? Ive looked and couldnt find any info on it.
There is a guy selling a set locally on craigslist,

The GTS headlight covers sold would look the same but more functional as no moving parts.
From the pic it looks like nothing but 2 flaps of plastic that will raise and lower to hid or show the lights. And not as cleanly as some HL covers.
probably why it dind't take off.

I don't remember any info, but that company used to advertise in the back of Super Chevy magazine in the early-mid 80's.

Hmm...verrrrry interesting. Ive actually seen a set of these on a car. I never got the details as the owner left the show before I could get to him, but I saw them working from a distance. If I remember, his just basically opened up to reveal the lights. I dont think there was anything really comlicated about them.
They dont look like they slide away or hide when open. Looks like they are just on a hinge...so when activated, it might not look too great.
I always thought it'd be cool to somehow make some doors that slide out from the center of the nose, and across the lights...like the 1st gen RS's did. But with as flimsy as the noses are, and how it'd be kinda difficult to make it look good when closed, it seemed like a lot of work for not a lot of pay off.

well what i was thinking would be more like a firebird headlight tuurned backwards. lights off- it would look like a camaro with headlight covers. turn lights on,instead of "pop-up", the covers fold down.
gumby is prob right tho. theres a reason it didnt take off..

Interesting, for some reason I've been thinking about this as well but thought it might not turn out very well.

Would need to be well attached where hinged in the back to hang on at speed as they would grab allot of air and want to be ripped off or slammed shut.

Just found one of their old ads. They were made by Palmer Engineering and Development, in Salt Lake City. They were for the '82-'84 Z28's.
