Re: anyone ever have this happen?

Uhhhh don't use off site decoders. RPO codes change from time to time, and unless you're using a decoder with definitions from the year your car was produced they probably aren't going to apply. MANY of those RPO codes are standard thirdgen codes, it's just that the decoder you used is ****.

I'm not going to decode all those RPOs for you. Start here https://www.thirdgen.org/rpodecoder and then use the search feature to find definitions for any the decoder doesn't find.

E5Z is one of the codes for the speedometer system, don't worry about it, it only applies when ordering replacement parts to fix the speedometer.
T93 applies to the tail lights, without digging too much it probably means they're the black stripe Z28 lenses instead of the blank SC or gold Berlinetta tails.
UV7 is your stereo. Probably UU7.
11U / 11L are the upper and lower colors, the break is the middle of the door, so white cars would be 11U and 11L.
16P could be a wheel color code, but the definition has probably changed since 1984.
8NN & 9NN are the rear spring codes.
MD8 & MX0 both signify the 700R4 transmission.
QYZ is a tire code 215/65R15
17N is the interior code, dark charcoal vinyl.
62X & 72X sound like front spring codes, probably 6ZX and 7ZX.

Also keep in mind 1984 was the first year for the SPID. After a few years they stopped putting so many codes for unimportant things on the SPID. Early cars have a lot of codes for things that most people are never going to care about.

Re: anyone ever have this happen?

Even the TGO decoder kicks back a lot of unknown or not found codes.

Remember that there are a lot of codes for deleted stuff (my car has three codes denoting that it did not get cruise control).

There are codes for spring rates which have never been categorized by anyone.

There are several codes depending on what speedo gear you got.

Run them through the TGO decoder and Google anything it kicks back, that should give you a good idea of what it had then (not what it has now).

Really?

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/hist...ing-codes.html

I would tend to think that the charts I posted should clarify any and all questions about the factory spring codes and how they stack up to other OEM springs.

I stand corrected.

I'd be looking at saving that data. I believe Compnine is shutting down.

I've got it saved for personal use, and technically it's right out of the GM parts computer database. Scans of those pages have been posted on the forum before, but it's been a few years. No one seems too interested in the OEM springs, that thread didn't even warrant a single reply.

Don't feel bad, most people miss the home page. Worse yet back in the day, Thirdgen.org hosted an accurate VIN decoder, and an online RPO decoder that didn't require downloads. In a lot of ways the old site was better for decoding a car and learning about your car.

E6N - SPEEDOMETER KEY DELETE <<< Found that searching the E6N code on this forum.

Double check your handwriting and make sure the letters/numbers are correct. If they still don't come up, just search the three digit code in this forum and you'll probably find someone who's run into it before. If the definition doesn't even come close, it's safe to assume the definition changed after your car was built.
