Re: Black 91 z28
Photos would really help. How nice is the paint job? Black shows more flaws than any other color, so unless it's a super high quality job, it's probably not going to look that great. Any idea what color it was before it was painted? Color changes can definitely hurt the value. Black was the 4th most popular color that year behind White, Red, and Teal, but any rarity gets thrown out the window if it's a color change. Also keep in mind that a new dash pad is around $600, and if you need seat repairs, your best best is to find another set of nice used seats as no one makes the correct fabric for these cars. Since they're all nearly 30 years old at this point, nice used seats can be very difficult to find. Miles aren't that low either. Without seeing photos, it sounds like a $3,500 car to me.

Black is the original paint, it's just repainted. Not sure how much they paid for the paint job.It was in storage for about 4yrs, the guy said it was his grandfathers. No check engine light, no over heating, needs tires, fluids to be flushed, new filters.

Well that's definitely a plus that it's not a color change. Still sounds like a car that needs a lot to be really nice. They've built some of the cost of the paint job into that price I think.

That helps a lot. Other stuff I see: parking light lenses are yellowed, wheels need to be refinished (or replaced), driver's seatbelt guide is missing (difficult to find, no repro's and the originals are almost always broken), steering wheel needs to be recovered, probably needs carpet, badly in need of underhood detailing, and it looks like there's a fair amount of corrosion under the hood as well. Are the floor pans solid? Also missing the ignition shielding on the back of the upper intake.
Have you ran a Carfax to see where it's spent most of its life?
Can't see the whole interior, but there's a REALLY nice set of very similar looking seats in the classifieds section on here if you need them https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/inte...aro-seats.html

If the paint's nice and you can get it at the right price, this wouldn't be a bad place to start. I'm at a point with my '91 RS now where nearly everything else is done, but can't afford paint or body work. I paid $1,500 for my car, but it wasn't nearly as nice as this car when I got it.

Re: Black 91 z28
I just bought a 91 Z28 350 All original with 90k for 7500 last month. It took me about a month but I really think I got a good deal. It's rust free and always been stored winters.Dash pad is good etc.
I think that's very high personally.
