That is a super nice convertible! Well worth the price! So clean!
But...I am a little biased, since it is my car. Thanks for posting it and the kind words. If you have any questions, I would be glad to answer them. Thanks for looking.

It's a nice car, but man... Forgive the blasphemy but that car needs a serious injection of pizzazz! Some wheels, an Iroc hood, stripes, something. It'd be hard to mod a car with that low mileage, but a touch of curb appeal would make all the difference in the world.

Lol....I respect your honesty, and have to agree with you. Some of my friends have said the same thing. This is my third white Camaro and have always made them "mine" before. I never worried about originality in the past. Here are some pictures of the white Camaro I had previous to this convertible. Unfortunately, it didn't have T-tops, so I was never truly happy with it.
I bought the convertible that I have for sale, and thought about changing some things like you have mentioned. I bought a leather wrapped steering wheel to put on it and just couldn't do it. I even thought about putting the stripes around the bottom of the car, but when I read the SPID and seen it was a stripe delete car I couldn't bring myself to do it.This convertible is so clean and nice, I couldn't bring myself to change it. It has stayed original for 30 years and I didn't want it to be molested on my watch. I realize it is "vanilla", but it could also be looked at as a blank slate. Regardless, I couldn't bring myself to change anything on it. The older I get the more I respect originality. It's a rare car that can go mostly unchanged for 30 years. So, I agree with you, that while it is missing some pizzazz, hopefully someone will see the potential in this car or appreciate its originality. It will make someone a great car.
I feel your pain. Part of me really wants to mod my 91 RS, but I'd feel bad tampering with it. Probably best to leave em alone if resale is in the future, but some of these cars just beg for some attention.
Just as an aside, every '89 RS was a DX3 decal delete.
Really? Huh, I didn't know that. I bought a new 89 Camaro RS off the dealer lot in 1989 that was white with black and gray stripes around the bottom ground effects. I just assumed you could order them either way. Maybe the dealer added them because they thought the car was plain and lacking pizzazz! lol. That probably would explain why they started coming off about a year into my ownership and I ended up just pulling the stripes off. Learn something new every day. Thanks!

Agreed, the car is very plain. I would just do a few tasteful touches to dress it up:
-Paint headlight buckets black
-IROC/Z28 grille & Fog lights
-IROC taillights
-235/60R15 BFG Radial T/A white lettered tires, or 16" IROC or 91-92' Z28 wheels

I agree with you. Although I thought there would be more people that would rather have a unmolested blank slate than deal with someone else's mods.
I do have a set of Iroc taillights, an Iroc steering wheel and some black paint sitting on a shelf in my garage. Hmmmmm….
So, I decided to add some stripes since a lot of the feedback was that this car was too plain. I decided to go with the stripes similar to the Iroc stripes. I know.... everyone probably meant to put stripes across the car like the heritage stripes, but I just couldn't do it. Do you think these stripes help it look less plain?
I like it, though i prefer one, but it doesn't stand out too much.Subtle is better, less is more.I added one silver to mine.Did you decide to keep it?
No, I'm still trying to sell it. I just had so many people (friends, family, this forum etc.) saying it was too plain, I decided to try to make it less plain. Thought it might make it more attractive to someone and encourage them to buy it.
I didn't really want to do it, and if I was going to keep it, I would have left it alone, but afterwards I kinda like it. It's not too "in your face". It actually looks like the stripes that came on an 89 white Camaro I purchased new back in the day.
Thanks for your thoughts.
I like it with the stripes. Did you paint the headlight pockets black also? That helps too.
I have not painted the head light pockets yet. But it's still on the table. I have someone else telling me to paint flames on the front, across the hood and down the sides. I'm considering everything at this point.
Skip the paint, do not pass go, do not collect $200, just bolt on some wheels that aren't white, and wait for a buyer. The double dunked in paint wheels kill that car. Wheels are a lot easier to reverse than wannabe Z28 headlight buckets.
Drew: If that is bad photo shopping, you have mad skills. I think that looks great. Nice job! Gives me more to think about.
Of course, how much money do you want to dump in a car to SELL it? I'd be better off just to keep lowering the price every week until someone can't contain themselves and buys it.
Think of it like working on the house you're selling to increase the curb appeal. Can always put the stock wheels back on if that's what a buyer wants, sell the wheels or use them on another car. They're a commodity, easily removed or changed for any reason, easy to sell on Craigslist.
Or drop the price, or go the auction route, I just wouldn't do anything that's difficult to undo on a low mileage car. A different set of wheels does a lot for the appearance and it's one of the most easily reversed tweaks you can make.

I know what you are saying, and I can't argue with you. I don't think I will do anything else to it. Hopefully, someone will appreciate the "blank slate". I just don't want to spend any more time or money on it. I want to move on to something else. I think I will either lower the price some more or send it to auction and see what it will do. Thanks for your thoughts.

Thank you. I appreciate that.
You know how it is...we could ask ten people what to do with the car and we would get ten different answers. None of them wrong....just different.
I've always liked those 15" wheels, just not in white. I also like like white letter tires, like some BFG radial TA's. Regardless of what wheel you choose, jazzing them up a bit would help. If I OWNED that car, I wouldn't keep those wheels.
-and I have never liked body color headlight buckets. Bar none, across the board, I have never said "that car looks better without black headlight buckets". But I do acknowledge for an original car, once you go black, you never go back, lol. It's harder with paint. LOL.
it's a sharp car though, I I've always loved white.
Plasti-dip might be an option... Do the kids still do that? Never messed with it, but seem to remember it was reversible.
I have always despised plasti-dip. -but in this case it may be an effective solution. I've thought about vinyl wrap too, but as someone with wrap skills, I can tell you that the shape makes it difficult. Not to do the actual wrap, but to trim after wrapping. Even with today's knifeless tapes, it's still a tricky, tedious option, that isn't really feasible.
I think you're on the right track, and I'm sure someone will decide they love it the way it is, or can imagine it the way they want it.
Good luck with the sale!
Thanks!

lol...that's funny... I'm going to let the new owner decide about the headlight buckets. I don't want to do something that is not easily reversible.

I have never messed with plasti-dip although I've thought about it a couple of times.

Seems like everyone wants black wheels these days....
I think one of you guys would look good in this Rs! Then you could paint, and stripe and change and... and.... and...
I DO know what you mean, though. I think I'm done with it and want to let the new owner do what they want.

Don't look at me. I've already got a 91 RS Convertible I haven't tagged since 2007. I wish they were in more demand, I'd like to sell mine, but the market for RS verts hasn't heated up enough yet.

Lol... sounds like you are in the same boat I'm in. Maybe worse. At least all mine are legal. It's funny, this is the nicest car I've ever had trouble selling before.
Oh well, I guess Chris has to buy it then! Have any pictures of your RS?
Thanks! I like it, but it's a TBI 305 with 2.73 gears, and it's basically like standing center stage under a spotlight driving it. I don't really like the attention. I've had it nearly 20 years, and put almost 1K miles on it. I need the parking spot for one of the other cars, and I can't see modding it. It needs a good deep cleaning, detailing, and all the mechanicals checked out. I have a lot of fluid flushing in my future, just to get it so I can sell it.
If I ever venture away from Irocs (whether by addition or replacement) it'll most likely be a Sport Coupe. I had an 86, 2.8L/T5 Red on red as my first car, and it was immaculate. I loved that car and it's the car that fanned the flames of this addiction! Always wanted to build a modern version of one.
A few. Most of them are from the dawn of digital cameras. I need to get it washed and get some new pics.

Sweet! Nice looking car! Are those fuzzy dice I see hanging from the mirror?
I'm not sure if this is what you are talking about exactly, but when you say "driving it is like center stage under a spotlight", but I feel that way driving my RS. Not because it is nice or flashy or anything like that, but I think it's the convertible part of it. I feel like I'm on display and naked. I think my Iroc is better looking and much more attention getting, but I don't feel that way driving it with the T-tops out. I think it's because you have more metal and glass around you. I feel like I sit down IN the Iroc and I feel like I'm sitting ON the RS. Does that make sense to you? Like I said, I'm not sure if that is where you were going with that but it's how it makes me feel driving the convertible.

We all got addicted somehow. We all have a story how we got started, right? Any pictures of that first car? No camera phones when I got started. I have no pictures of my first car at all. I only have two of my second car and only a couple of my third. The older I got the more pictures I have. Technology. Now I have pictures of my cars on my phone and none of my kids! LOL I guess I'm back to square one then...looking for a buyer since I can't talk you into it.
That's exactly what I mean. I'd equate it to the same discomfort of public speaking for a crowd of strangers. It's just uncomfortable, especially after everything else having 20% or darker tinted windows. I drove the Formula around town a bit this spring, noticed more people than usual staring at the car. Again it makes me uncomfortable, even after realizing people were just looking at the car. I haven't driven the convertible in a long time, but even back then it'd bother me sometimes. Now I think it'd bother me considerably more. Seems like I'd be too busy looking over my shoulder to enjoy the driving experience. It's a difficult thing to put into words.
A convertible Thirdgen stands out.. especially in that color with those nice wheels and the top down...
I like the attention because it’s on the car and some younger people are like, what the heck is that? And some might google IROC-Z.. Some people it really makes their day to see a nice third gen again too.. Had lots of cool gas station conversations..

relax man! Enjoy the cars!
I'm with you! When I drive one of my 3rd gens, I know people aren't looking at me, it's the car!
