83 Ta defroster Switch

Hello, that would be GREAT!! Let Me know how much you want for it and shipping.
There is another part I need that I think is part of the defroster wiring..
I pulled off the lower part of the dash on the passenger side to see if I could find the short in the wiring to rear window defroster grid. I found a tan colored rectangualar box.. with a circuit board inside. A pink/blk wire, blk wire and a blue/white wire coming from it.. It is burnt to a crisp (literally). If you have that piece also I would be happy to buy it also.
Thanks

That is not a defroster relay, I'm pretty sure that is your Remote Lamp Driver. It's the only thing like this I could find in my shop manual, and is the only "solid state" modual connected to the ALDL port that I could find. This basically controls the check engine light on your car. From what I understand if this isn't working, the ECM cannot communicate with the ALDL port for diagnotics. Does your check engine light come on when you turn the key ON? I bet it doesn't....it wont work without this. The Pink and Black wire goes directly to the fuse panel and it is hot in the RUN position. It connects with the GAUGES fuse. Another wire connects directly to the ALDL Port under the drivers side dash, and it also runs to the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT on the dash.

I just so happen to actually have this harness right now, sitting in a box What a coincidence

Unfortuanelty I need it, so I cannot give it to you...this would have to be a junk yard item. I tried searching to see if you could get a replacement board, but couldn't find anything.

Mystery part

Hello, That is definitly the part.. I haven't noticed the the check engine light coming on but will certainly remember to pay attention this morning..
At least now I know what part to ask for..
One other question. Do you by chance know if there is anything between the defroster switch and the rear window defogger. Is there a relay of some sort..
I will start looking around to see if I can find the lamp driver.
Thanks

There is a rear defogger timer relay that is behind the right hand side of the Instrument pannel. It will run for 10 minutes when first turned on, then 5 minutes each time after. It will reset back to 10 if the car is turned off and back on again. You should probably get a factory shop manual, it has all the wiring diagrams. I would scan you the diagram from my '82 manual, but my scanner isn't working. it should pretty much be the same.

did you ever get the defrost switch? There is one on Ebay right now...looks like it's in pretty good shape.
