WTB: 82-83 steering column, auto, tilt, no cruise or delay

So yeah my 83' Berlinetta was stollen a while back and I got it back last sunday. The thieves broke into the column and yeah I need a new one. My Berlinetta is an auto, it did not have cruise control or delay wipers and of course it doesn't have vats. If anyone has one please hit me up with some pictures.

Are you needing the kind with only a tilt lever on the column? Cause I have one of those, from an '84 Berlinetta. It had cruise and delay, but all that was controlled by the dash pods... Here's a pic:

Also, the column is really loose. If you're interested, I will check it out to see what the problem is and fix it. It could just be the usual loose screws...

I have one from an '84 also. Tight with no cruise or delay. Wiring looks good.

I would like to keep the wheel...

Re: WTB: 82-83 steering column, auto, tilt, no cruise or delay

The 83 Berlinetta was not a digital Camaro and the 83 column was the same as every other camaro and Z28,....... in 82 and 83. 1984 and up columns are not a direct fit for the earlier cars.

Here's a couple pictures of the only 82-83 style column I have.....

This one is a MANUAL Column without Cruise,Tilt, or Delay. You can see that the connector at the bottom of the column is not the same as the one used on later years. I'm sure that a later year analog Camaro/Firebird column can be bolted up and the wires either re-pined into another plug or simply spliced into the dash wiring harness - but they are not "plug-and-play".

Re: WTB: 82-83 steering column, auto, tilt, no cruise or delay

The styles for Camaro are

82-83
84-88
89 ( Vats - no SIR)
90-92 ( Vats & SIR )

I believe that the Firebirds are similar - but have never owned an 82 or 83 Bird and can't confirm that. (They got thier first major overhaul in 85 so thier columns might go from 82-84, then 85-88, then 89, then 90-92. )

Re: WTB: 82-83 steering column, auto, tilt, no cruise or delay

Yeah that was my original plan but then I managed to turn the car on and realize that the turn signal and highbeam switch were broken. All my plans are ruined though as my mother sold my car, before I asked on here for parts I told he to get an estimate on how much my car was worth. She misinterpreted that as "Sell my car to a junk yard" and she did....for $125.
