My HVAC ducting was ravaged by mice. Are there any "clean" boxes out there to be had?

Was it chewed to pieces or just used as their toilet?
My car once had a massive mouse infestation. I cleaned all my ductwork with rags, Simple Green, and water. Had a dirty rag and a clean rag, so went over things twice. Scraped off all the old foam in the HVAC box and started over. Gave it a quick shot of paint too (which the factory didn't). It was disgusting and I threw all the dirty rags in the garbage.

The "interior" HVAC box behind the dash ?
Or the HVAC box in the engine bay ??

Or the HVAC box in the engine bay ??

Used as a toilet. they ripped all the jute off the front of the dash and stuffed it in every duct. Just nasty as heck. But the I took apart the whole HVAC system and the wife help clean it up. I think I may be able to get it back together.
I'm using some navel jelly on all the metal doors and arms, but it seems to be working to eat all the surface rust off.
Any ideas on replacing all the foam at the interconnects? What a mess. I can post pics if it helps anyone?
Thanks guys

Bleach is what you want to use. Vermin waste isn't something to mess with. Respirator, gloves, disinfect, don't breathe that stuff in.

Yeah, that's true. I wore a respirator and disposable suit and gloves. People should take that serious.
Plus, it's fun making the neighbors freak out when they see you wearing all that gear in the front yard.

Or for when your 'old lady' has a Darth Vader fetish. Or when you want to LARP as a Sardukar... Or just for around the house...Originally Posted by QwkTrip
