I did this Grant, but never got the horn working yet. I think I need some other kit or parts. I also may need a new plastic piece in the column. I think it's called a canceling cam. If ya do replace the wheel, make sure you get the right installation kit for that wheel and that it is right for the car. I think they make these wheels and kits a little tricky for an ex-airbag car. In other words, they seem to be a little off when it comes to lining up the mounting holes and horn button hole. I don't think they want the airbag deleted. And I had to shim mine with a few extra washers as spacers so it wouldn't rub.

thats the problem im running into guys, when i turn the wheel it makes a clicking or rubbing noise & theres this big ugly gap between the column & the plastic piece. so shimming it should quit the rubbing or clicking noise?

Depending on where you shim it, yes . It should work and stop the rubbing noise. Did the wheel feel like it turned different? A little resistance when it rubbed? Or it didn't return back as fast when you let go after a corner.
Sounds like it needs some kind of spacer.

I used one of their billet hub kits and didn't need to shim it at all. I'm using a three spoke Collectors edition wheel.
