so i just got a 140mph cluster for my bird. mines a 89 and it came out of an 89. it should just drop in right? has anyone tried changing the little rubber things on the lights to get a different color gauge face? thanks and tips on rolling back an odometer? the new ones got 205000, not quite the 60,000 on my car.

I've tried them, and I suggest going with these "WLED 5-LED Wide Angle LED bulb" instead. They’re much brighter and I very happy with them. The rubber sleeves were not bright enough to read the numbers on the speedometer or on the other gauges. Below is the link.

Do a search for "WLED 5-LED"

im with ringo. My pics make it look like only parts are lit up, and that tthe numbers really arent visible, yet in reality the whole guage is lit and the numbers and dashes are plainly visible.

id rather have actual mileage on my odometer not 205000. i took the cluster apart today for cleaning and pulled the speedo up just to check the guts out. to roll it back is it possible to just turn the gears with a flathead? any input is appreciated.

Sorry I'm not familiar with the Firebird dash I have a Camaro. But when I replaced my 110mph speedometer with a 145mph one, I removed the odometer from the 110mph and installed it 145mph one.

did you just have to take the 2 screws off the gauge face then put the old odometer on ?

This is what I did, although there are others who have done it without removing the faceplate. I made special notice as to the location of the position of the needle. I then carefully pried it off. I removed the 2 screws holding the faceplate to mechanism. I removed the small clip on the axel of the Odometer. I remove odometer and replaced it with the original and put everything back together in reverse order.
The speedometer and odometer work perfectly.
