The only problem I'd see with that one is it has white lettering while the later cars have yellow lettering. Sorry no experience changing them here either.

Re: new wiper/cruise/turnsignal lever?

Wow never seen an aftermarket lever like that. I wonder how the quality is. Figuring how almost all GM lever's text wear off in a few years...kinda annoying and its hard to find good one at the JY and new they are over $60-70.

To change them out all you do is pull and turn to the left, it kinda clicks in and out. Make sure you pull from the base(closest to the steering column so it doesnt break apart). Then there is a 4 wire connector. Simple.

Re: new wiper/cruise/turnsignal lever?

good deal, appreciate the input. does my problem sound like it's the lever itself or something in the column?

as to the piece on ebay it's only $9 plus shipping. if it's remotely close it will work. i'm not too concerned with color on this piece but i agree it's nice to match. the $60 savings can go towards other things though on this car. thanks!

Hmmm, I could use 1 of those myself. Not bad for the price.

Thats a common replacement youd find in the HELP section of autozone

Just a FYI your high/low beam switch is in the column not the stalk you listed

Could the problem be the high beam switch and not the signal stalk itself?

Re: new wiper/cruise/turnsignal lever?

Really need to pull the column apart to figure it out, especially if the tilt mechanism is loose. The lever simply engages a rod/cam for the high beam switch farther into the column. So it's more likely improper engagement or a bad high beam switch.

A loose column can cause improper engagement and the symptoms you describe.

Re: new wiper/cruise/turnsignal lever?

sounds to me like the highbeam rod has fallen off either the lever or the switch. If its still in the switch which is about 3/4 of the way down the column, then its probably off the lever. Pull the sterring wheel and dig into the column. Its an easy fix. Easier if you have snap ring pliers to release the C clip that holds it together under the steering wheel. Shouldnt take more then about 30-45 mins to check/fix if you've never taken a column apart.

Oh and you can 'borrow' the wheel puller and lock plate remover from AZ or one of the others.

Just about every Third Gen restoration magazine sells those. Classic Industries, Year One, the Paddock etc. Ebay works too though.

Re: new wiper/cruise/turnsignal lever?

I have this problem, as well as the left turn signal not canceling out ever but the right one does. Think it's the stalk?
