Overhead Console

Does anyone have pictures of overhead consoles installed. I've seen pictures of them off but not on. Preferably hard top. I'm redoing my interior debating if I want to put one in! Thanks!

Re: Overhead Console

I like the way that looks, so the light on the console, eliminates the original light, What are the 'switch' looking things on the front there near the mirror? Do you have an upclose picture

Here's the hardtop version:

The "rolls" are for mileage, reminders, etc. By the way, I'd suggest you purchase the console complete: wiring, mounting, map light and bezel, flash light (Camaro or Firebird version), dome light, and for the coupe version, the reinforcement piece (note the pic below). Finding individual pieces, especially the flash light, will be difficult.

When I wrote the tech article for the headliner installation, I didn't reinstall the visor or the windshield trim panel on that side because my next project was to install an autodimming compass/temp mirror, so I left that stuff off so I could run the wires easier. I tried to be creative with my pics to hide the unfinished work, but I guess that one slipped through.

Yes, the contours are different. You can see them in the picture:

Mounting is a bit different as well. Check the following link for more info:

My favorite part is the pouch that was probably designed to hold a pack of smokes. Gotta love the 80s

You would use the hardtop version. It fits pretty good. The front screws are a pain to get on but they fit fine.
