I have a 1986 T-Top and found a overhead console that I want to buy, is there a difference in the ones that were for T-Top and Non T-Top cars? If so can I modify the non T-Top to fit mine just in case it is the one I'm looking at?...I am pretty innovative and can make things work if need be, but if is a "round peg in a square hole" type of deal, I will pass...

Yes there is a difference.The t top console is flat whereas the hardtop console is curved to fit the roof line.Do a search as this has been covered many times before

thankx guys for the info and the links, I got with the owner and he stated it came from an 87 with t-tops....Im going to get it....it even has the flashlight.

 

If the seller has them, you'd be well advised to get the mounting pieces as well as a snippet of wiring harness. Purchasing them separately can be an adventure.

yeah, before I even asked for those he said he will throw them in....he knew more about it than I did.

 

I know one button turns on the little map light but what does the other one supposed to do? the button is fried on mine.

 

Dome light. Shoot a bit of electronic cleaner around the button/switch and you'll probably be amazed.

okany thanks, I took the button apart, its melted inside from the previous owner. Glad it's nothing neat though
