Re: silverado dash?

Probably can't find anything here, because this site is dedicated to 82-92 Firebirds & Camaros. Not much, if any, Silverado dash info here.

Re: silverado dash?

anomaly,

well thanx for the suggestions, i checked out the sites you suggested. unfortunately the only info they gave was swapping gauges in trucks, not how to put them into camaros. unfortunately, i will probbably have to fabricate a dash. i wanted to make it look factory, but seems impossible

Re: silverado dash?

Don't give up so easily-
Have you checked the Silverado dash to see if someone like Auto Meter makes any guages close to the size of the factory units??? I'll be using a custom dash guage insert for my IROC and knew from the get-go, I'd have to locate a very reputable shop to oversee the swap. Do you have a picture of the dash we could take a visual of????? Nitro

Re: silverado dash?

So you're putting the 5.3 into a 1992 camaro?.... Sweet, but I don't think the gauge cluster will work though. Unless it's different than my 02 Sierra gauge cluster?.... If the dimensions are close nothing is impossible.

Re: silverado dash?

took some measurements. i see no reasonable way of putting the gauge cluster in short of fabricating a sheetmetal or fiberglass dash. i could make it work but it would look like crap. so fiberglass install it is. so much for factory look

Re: silverado dash?

Do a search for people that have put autometer guages in these cars. I have seen some really clean installs, that they use the stock firebird dash and remove everything behind the guages, and put them in. If you could get aftermarket guages that will preserve the stock 5.3 sensors / senders, but are the right diameter for these cars, that will be your best bet probably.
