painless wiring harness and ignition switch
i am thinking about getting this http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku wiring kit and this http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku or this http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku ignition switch (gettin rid of vats and not sure which one is needed, if its the later of the two switched posted it will be mounted on the dash or something i guess) and totally redoing the wiring in the car. the owner before me totally hacked up the wiring so while i have the motor out and all the interior out i was thinking of replacing it. a carbed big block is goin in so F.I. wiring isnt an issue. i finished welding up the roll cage and i have my seats and everything so the interior is about ready to go back in unless i tackle this job too. what are some of you guys thoughts? does the plan make sense or am i wasting my time. also would their be a better way to do it? i really think i need a new harness so i dont really want to repair the old one. i searched but couldnt come up with anything on this specific topic per say. thanxs guys

If the guy before you hacked all the wiring up and you want to get rid of the stock mess anyway i would go with the painless wiring kit. I recently rewirid my whole car aswell to get rid of all the B.S. and it went in with out a problem everything is labeled and it has all the clips and connectors needed to go right to the colum. and if the interior is ripped out then i wopuld say this is a perfect time to do so. hope this helped...

I just bought another one for my second car and it was $400. summit wants$500 for it. but i found it at local speed shop to be cheaper. so shop around and see. if your dash is all out its a perfect time to do it. and like i said its real easy and it comes with everything needed

yeah i did some shopping around.
and yes my dash is right out. its in my bedroom at the moment haha.
i was looking at my old wiring harness and so i decied to take it out as well.
anyways i just removed alot of the unessesary wires. since my car is TBI and im putting a carbed engine in. i just removed pretty much anything that was hooked up to the ECM. and just left the lights and what ever was hooked up to the gauges. thats pretty much all that i have. im thinking of redoing my wiring job tho. i found some more wires that i dont need at the moment. i ill take a photo of my self wiring harness once its fully complete.
