I asked for a manual shift plate and boot from a thirdgen.org regular parts seller, this is what I was sent. It doesn't fit my console. Speculation was it came from an early 'Bird.
Confirmation would be appreciated.

Whoa, that pic came out small.
Here's the thread, pic is in post #10.

If you're still wondering about that shift plate, you might try sending a PM to 82FirebirdTA. He's one of the resident experts on early thirdgen TAs. So if the shift plate in question is from a TA, he would probably be able to tell you.

That is a '82-84 Firebird shift plate. They had dash board and console styling that was based on a Lear Jet cockpit.

Thanks, I appreciate the help. Like I said in the other thread, I haven't had any manual tranny exposure with 3rd gens, and 'Birds even less.

82FirebirdTA has a couple of '83 5-speed TAs, and he currently has a thread where he's posted some pix of one of them, celebrating its 25th b-day. Post #12 has an interior pic, and you can see the shift plate. It looks like the one you're questioning. Here's the thread:

Yep, you're right. That kind of stuff doesn't come up in a search.

Well, an '82-'84 'Bird console didn't come up in my searching, and I've already got a "regular" plate on the way. Nice to know I can list with confidence what I now have for sale.
Thanks for the responses.
