Re: No doubt a pointless thread, but what's the weirdest thing youv'e found in your c
I can only assume that an overwhelming majority of third gen owners are not the original owners of the cars. Unfortunately for those of us who appreciate the cars, many of them are beaten, trashed and disrespected horribly. On top of that, let's face it, the cars are approaching 20+ years old, so they've probably had a lot of owners who left a lot of things, hopefully accidentally, in the car.
The reason I bring this up is when I bought my '91 z/28, there was this really loud rattling coming from inside the drivers door whenever I hit a bump. Not even a rattling, more of a thumping noise. It wasn't causing any harm, and I was busy with school and work, so I let it rattle it's little brains out for about a month until yesterday I finally had a nice day and some free time to pull the door panel off and find out exactly what on earth was making that noise.
Well...here it is :
it's a solid steel coil spring. Weighs almost 3 pounds. I have no idea what it is/where it came from, as I've never seen one inside a third-gen door before between owning 3 and junkyard diving countless times. The only thing I can equate it to is one of the springs that older cars used to hold the hood open.
Well anyways, since I've made this astoundingly odd discovery, I was just wondering if anybody else has ever found anything weird in their third gen.
edit - crap, I made a typo in the title.

Well I am just starting to rip out my interior. So far I've only found tons of garbage under the seats. Also a half full packet of Skyline Chili hot sauce. I feel so lucky.

I pulled the carpet out of mine and found a chip-n-dales "dude info card", a salena picture sticker and an old pair of panties. I almost stopped and sold the car after I found the last one!!!

I know it's not really the inside but my 83 Z28 had a hornets nest in the passnger side mirror. I had it for 3 days before I finally figured out where they were coming from.

I purchased a 89 formula 350 for the 12" disc rear end and found a $100 & $50 poker chips under the back seat. Tried to return them but they change them out periodicly to avoid counterfieting(that sucked).
I recently purchased an 80 Z28 and found a dead squirel under the front seat

Ooh i found something else.
I took off my door panels to replace my weather stripping a while back, and inside the window was some ticket to a club named like "Rocksalt" or something and there was a VIP badge in the passenger side mirror. Lol looked from early 90's

Re: No doubt a pointless thread, but what's the weirdest thing youv'e found in your c
I recently bought my 92, and under the driver side rear seat, I found a towel that was used to soak up rain water, under the driver seat I found a 2 year old bag of cheetos..., and under the passenger rear seat, I found a transparent pink recorder. LOL...I was like wtf?
I also vacuumed up which what appeared to be 5 years worth of straw collected under the hood and in between the hatch top / body... ****ing pigs lol.
It looked like this

Cept, dirty, sticky....ugh lol glad that went in the trash! WTF

My First Car was a 1964 VW Beetle. The Driver's Side Floorboard was actually a Stop Sign. Poetic Justice?
I Had a 1986 Chevy Truck: The Radiator was held in place with Zip Ties, The Exhaust System (What there was of it) was held in place with Coat Hangers, When you turned on the Turn Signal, the Entire Dash Blinked with the signal. They Put the Radiator Overflow in an almost Horizontal position on the Fender. It was useless there.

I always seem to find a different color of a girl's hair in my car...front seats, backseats, under the hatch, you name it. So far, Blonde, Brunette, Redhead, Black hair (complete with hairtie *ew*). trust me, not that many girls actually want to be seen in my car.
Re: No doubt a pointless thread, but what's the weirdest thing youv'e found in your c
I found about 10 boxes of ammunition hidden under the plastic panels in the trunk area. Previous owner admitted to running weapons and ammo across the mexican/california border.
BTW, the rounds were tracer rounds... 7.62x39mm ... Can you say AK47 round?

Ripped the carpet out of the '79, and there was a whole mess of Coors beer bottle caps.
Which explains the crappy work on the car done by owners past.

In my first car, a 97 rs, after the engine blew and my dad and I were stealing the NICE 30th anniversary seats for his 93z28 we found three used condoms and a ziplock bag of cocain, which we threw away at an old dumpster. Then in my third car, an 89 formula, I found in the trunk a pair of golf clubs, a cd with crappy music on it, and the lid to the console which was wrapped in 100% real SNAKESKIN! And I haven't found anything odd in my 92 rs... yet...

Re: No doubt a pointless thread, but what's the weirdest thing youv'e found in your c
When I bought my Trans Am in '99 the long-time owner said that his baby girl had been driving it to college for the past two years and that his princess had been good about keeping it maintained and always clean.
When I got it home and started detailing it I found unused condoms, rolling papers, the remains of a broken glass pipe, and a bunch of used up Bic lighters under the seats and in the door pockets.
Why don't I ever meet chicks like that driving sweet f-bodies? Seriously!

Wow, some of these things you guys mention makes me want to run a junk yard. I'd have an unbelievable amount of fun just gutting the interior, and on good days, probably find at least 20 dollars in change.
I'm kind of disappointed after it's all said and done. I remember posting on this thread before I started gutting my interior, mentioning how I should find a lot of odd stuff. Found some change, a brake rotor, and some Old spice cologne (Which I actually kept, it smells good).
