No it's not poop
Those are called Balance rocks, Chevy used them in all their pre-bankruptcy vehicles to adjust and correct weight distribution.

My wedding ring nearly 3 yeas after it disappeared in the car when it flew off my finger as I was trying to keep the back end from swapping with the front end.

In my 91 Formula I found a 1911 penny that was in great condition. Amazingly enough in this same car I found the original untouched engine, transmission, rear end, stereo, and failing GM paint

I didn't touch it, went into the house and got my wife and showed it to her. she says "Guess the bitch has finally accepted me now." and went back into the house. I owned the car before we got married.

Just took the interior out of my 1989 IROC vert so i could replace a horrendous carpet..... under the back seat i found crayons, a marker, a business card for a TV news director (to whom i have sent an email).... and....... an unopened condom that expired in 1994.
Found the business card of an optometrist stuck in the front seat tracks....
Most of the time its cool finding this stuff...... just not the condom....

Why not the condom? Because it never got used? Or because it never got used?
Re: No doubt a pointless thread, but what's the weirdest thing youv'e found in your c
I don't want to think about what others may have been doing in the back of my car..... and it depresses me... instead of a romantic life, i just work on cars...
Interestingly enough... i heard back from the person who lost their business card in my car. The car was her husband's... they were the second owners... they traded it in for "brand new" 1996 Camaro SS convertible.... which they still have... Who would have thought thats how i would find one of the old owners....
Re: No doubt a pointless thread, but what's the weirdest thing youv'e found in your c
Not really weird, except for the fact that I can't figure out how it would've gotten there....but I found the original owners manual and window sticker neatly placed under the rear bucket seat cushion. I never would have known it were there if I didn't have to remove the cushion to replace a busted seat belt buckle. Not the strangest thing by any means but considering how snugly my seats fit into position I can't imagine they just slipped through the cracks and ended up perfectly placed beneath the cushion with no crumples or anything.
Either way...kind of a cool piece of my cars history
Re: No doubt a pointless thread, but what's the weirdest thing youv'e found in your c
Nothing strange in my Gta 88 but long ago I had a Volvo 740.....found 5 rounds military 7,62mm, a used needle under the driver seat and a broken bone iron/knuckle duster. I Think that volvo had seen some sh*t.
Greetings from Sweden

Re: No doubt a pointless thread, but what's the weirdest thing youv'e found in your c
undoubtedly an old thread... I was 7 when it started. It's 2021 and we're still finding stuff! Found pretty similar stuff. unmarked pills, snake venom suckers, snort stick, dog tags, chinese/japanese necklace, snail shell, hairtie, a single bullet with a red tip (no casing), bungee cord, and lastly a wheel lug security socket (found in the rear quarterpanel of course).

A couple of years ago, after owning the '88 Trans-Am for over 20 years I decided to look in the T-Top pouch. Inside were a pair of T-Top shades that look to be never used (pieces of masking tape over the Velcro). In my defense the car has been sitting in the garage for years (medical issues). Ron

This must be the bottom 6 inches that I sawed off a long skinny funnel last year. I thought I tossed it in the trash, but there it was laying in the edge of my air cleaner, outside the filter. No idea how it got melted, either.
Re: No doubt a pointless thread, but what's the weirdest thing youv'e found in your c
Last night found a line of mouse turds a used pink q-tip and 65¢ under my center console. The wonders never cease! All the change I’ve collected so far Mouse nest and qtip Turdz

Ok...now I have another entry.... Previously mentioned what I found in my 89 IROC vert.. sold it and bought an 88 IROC vert. Besides over 5 Dollars in change... Under the driver's side rear seat, folded up... Was a guide to local adult establishments in the buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse area... From 2011... Had to unbolt the seat to get it out...got pretty wet and now it's all stuck together.... At least... I think it got wet......
Re: No doubt a pointless thread, but what's the weirdest thing youv'e found in your c
When I found my 89 Formula after a 26 year search and started my restoration, I found a hand full of gravel in the master cylinder. At that point I replaced the entire brake system.
Re: No doubt a pointless thread, but what's the weirdest thing youv'e found in your c
Back in high school (95) I got my first car, an 83 firebird v6. Under the passenger seat I found a pregnancy test, paper work from the first owner (which was a local hair salon. Must have been used as a business car), and a Green Jelly cassette. Then in 2002 I bought an 87 GTA. The only thing I found in it was a bunch of change. Now I have an 89 GTA that I have gone through and removed every thing from the dash to rear panel. I found a pair of surgical scissors, change, spilled coffee that left a mess under the center console, pens, and hair ties.
Re: No doubt a pointless thread, but what's the weirdest thing youv'e found in your c
Bought my 84z in 98. Very clean car, couple small dings here n there. I was 17. When I pulled the rear seats I found a Mexicans drivers license, from Mexico. Car to best of my knowledge was a van Nuys build, but most of its life has been up here in mn. So strange to say the least for a 17 year old to find in his 1st car.
makes a guy think where and what has my car been up to before I got it.
Re: No doubt a pointless thread, but what's the weirdest thing youv'e found in your c
I found a ancient set of jumper cables that were in the original packaging, a cigarette lighter floodlight(both were in the "hidden" compartment across from the spare), a bunch or kitchen towels that look like they were from the 80s shoved around the spare, and a tiny x-wing underneath the seat tracks to the drivers seat.

The reason I bring this up is when I bought my '91 z/28, there was this really loud rattling coming from inside the drivers door whenever I hit a bump. Not even a rattling, more of a thumping noise. It wasn't causing any harm, and I was busy with school and work, so I let it rattle it's little brains out for about a month until yesterday I finally had a nice day and some free time to pull the door panel off and find out exactly what on earth was making that noise.
Well...here it is :
it's a solid steel coil spring. Weighs almost 3 pounds. I have no idea what it is/where it came from, as I've never seen one inside a third-gen door before between owning 3 and junkyard diving countless times. The only thing I can equate it to is one of the springs that older cars used to hold the hood open.
Well anyways, since I've made this astoundingly odd discovery, I was just wondering if anybody else has ever found anything weird in their third gen.
edit - crap, I made a typo in the title.
I found a used crack spoon hidden under the shift plate sitting on top the trans tunnel in my 85 z28
Re: No doubt a pointless thread, but what's the weirdest thing youv'e found in your c
I bought a 1990 Camaro a couple years ago while replacing the carpet last year, I found this diamond? ring. I don't imagine it's terribly valuable. I also found four cigarette lighters and what must be $9 in change 🤣
Re: No doubt a pointless thread, but what's the weirdest thing youv'e found in your c
While restoring my 1984 Trans Am, I could see something below the e-brake handle through the fringe stuff, but couldn't get it out. When we removed the middle console it was Judas Priest's Screaming for Vengeance cassette dated 1982.
I also found two mice carcasses: one behind the PS trim panel next to the rear seat and the other inside the DS UQ7 subwoofer box.
Re: No doubt a pointless thread, but what's the weirdest thing youv'e found in your c
When I got my abandoned rummage sale 85 Z28 it had some very interesting surprises in store when I started taking it apart. Along with the copious amounts of racoon and rat poop... there were some other gems. One being this poorly preserved Phil Collins cassette.
The funniest part was the ice scraper from a now out of business gentlemans club. Must have been a regular to get gifts LOL.
Found a giant fish hook. Thankfully it was found the easy way. I also evited some long term residents.
The second most shocking find was the near flawless build sheet under the DISGUSTING carpet. I've torn apart over 100 3rd gens and never found a build sheet this nice.
The wildest thing I found in the car was the owners manual. In the front cover was a name from my past. Ottis Slagle was the man who gave me my first job at 11 years old and taught me a LOT about work ethic and doing things right the first time. It lead me down a rabbit hole looking for the history of the car and I found out he bought the car brand new in 1985 for his daughter to drive to college. Then it was sold off in 1988 to a friend of a friend's dad. He drove it till the mid 90s. It was sold once again and then sat from 1996 till 2019 when I received it.

I bought my 91 RS like a week ago, and this is undoubtedly the weirdest thing I have found in ANY car. I haven't even the slightest clue of what this is, I don't speak japanese or chinese or whatever the hell this is.
