I'm replacing the carpets in my TA and when I lifted the carpet their was a pair of pliers under there,so I ques the pliers belong to GM because the carpets have never replaced.

Gotta love how some 18 year old kid with a whole 9 posts under his belt comes in here talking junk.
Your Chevy is real reliable, isn't it? I see you have a lot of faith in it, little man.
I'm more of a GM guy, but I will buy other brands, obviously. If I could afford all of the insurance, and had more than a 2 car garage, I'd also have a C5 or C6 'Vette, and an LS1 Firebird.
LOL. Newer AND slower? Excuse me, but wasn't your IROC originally a mid 15 second car? My GT stock was a low 14 second car. If I had decent tires out back instead of 285 18's, and could cut a low 60' time, I'd be getting the best of Mach 1's. Or in more comprehensible terms in your case, running low 13's.
Look, I'm sorry that you're 18, and all you can afford is the IROC. They're great cars, that's why I also own a T-top '86 IROC. But, there are better and faster cars out there, in the same price range as a well kept IROC.
I'm a car enthusiast, not just a third generation Camaro enthusiast. My next vehicle may be a 5.9 Cummins powered Dodge Ram 2500, or I may buy a bike. A 2004-2006 5 valve Yamaha R1, or just something stupid, like a 'Busa. Whether you like it or not, a lot of people on here also like other cars.

I'm just not a one brand fanboy, and I accept that there are better cars out there. Another newb spouting off. Check out the situation before you type. I love third gens, hence why I've owned one for years. I just like other vehicles too.

well why did you state that you were not a fan of third gens? and one more thing what is the title of this web site?
Re: No doubt a pointless thread, but what's the weirdest thing youv'e found in your c
Are you referring to my comment about the other kid claiming his Chevy is so reliable?

Note: Also check out what I said.
I clearly stated that I am more of a GM guy, but I will buy other brands.
As in, I wanted a newer car, didn't want to sacrifice V8 power, don't like the looks of the LS1 Camaro too much, and just didn't want a second F body in general. So, I bought a Mulestang. They're good cars. Of course it isn't anything compared to the power of an LS1, but I can handle LT1s, and L98 cars.
If I weren't a fan of third gens, I'd sell mine, not keep it for almost three years. I bought my IROC in summer of 2008. I think by now, if I didn't like it, it'd be gone.
The "title" (I think you mean URL) of the site is thirdgen.org.
Does that mean I can only own a third gen? If so, I'm sorry. Learn to get some respect for other cars while you're at it.
I met up with a member off of here last night, ninetyone, and roll raced his bolt on L98 Firebird. I consistently put 2+ lengths on it, and he mentioned once that I put 3 or 4 lengths on him, on one run where we both went up to about 130 miles per hour.
Know what his first message was to me after that, when he got back home and on his computer last night?
"good run dude! Your stang is pretty bad-***. Maybe we'll meet up again after i change my trans out and get 342's."
That's a true car enthusiast there. Full of pride for his own car, but sportsmanship to go with it. The dude shook my hand after my Mustang got the best of his Firebird every single time.

After a long night of drinking w/ 2 best friends on 1/1/2000 I made it back to my Camaro with a black eye, several stories and no keys (true story, in my defenseless state some guy attacked me) . I slurred to my buddy, 'if I only had a paper clip, I'd start this friggin car right now'. I reached into the seats and found a paperclip! I bent it into a funny shape, stuck it in the ignition and the car fired immediately. We laughed out loud for about 5minutes.
I had bought a 90 Firebird from Charlotte and it had a mouse nest in the stock air cleaner area.

I got one that will knock the socks off of everybodies foot. In 2004, I remember that everytime I got into my broke down IROC, there was a horrible smell like if something had died. 3 weeks later (still in 2004), the bad smell was gone. Well just a few days ago (Tuesday Feb. 15, 2011) I removed my hatch plastics to perform a rear cargo hatch cover curtain installation. As I removed the driverside panel, I thought I saw a grey cloth. As I looked closer, it was a dead bird next to a pair of sanding disks

I think that'll knock the dinner out of someone's gut more than knock their socks off. That's horrible that a dead bird sat in there for 6-7 years.
I had a couple mice die in mine, but I gutted the interior not long after that, and got them out. One had his head stuck underneath the plastic trim that goes over top of the door, and another died in the A/C ducts, I'm assuming from the poison I set out.

Yeah man. Even though it was in there for that long, any bacteria should of already died off since there was no more moisture in the carcass. But still I wasnt gonna take my chances. I got my instruction sheet for tuning the TPI out of the rear storage box and swooped up the crispy bird. Thats one for the books.

HAHAHA. I cant figure out how the bird got in there. There was no absolute way for the bird to enter the Camaro, unless it got in when my stupid so called friend sent the Camaro to the junkyard to support his drug habits.

Builder unseals tomb of mummified cat

A mummified cat believed to have been stuck in the walls of a Mt Maunganui home for more than 55 years has been found by a surprised builder.
John Manley was working on the weatherboard of Claire and Michael Fraser's Tui St home when he made the bizarre discovery.
The cat had no hair or eyes but was otherwise intact, including skin and claws.
"It's not many times you see a cat behind a wall looking at you," Mr Manley said.
"It looks pretty much like a normal cat, just all dried up. It looks like it's 100 years old.
"It's runty as, you can see all the bones and the ribs. The paws are all curled up and it's still got the ears on."
Mr Manley said he'd never seen anything like it in 12 years as a builder.
"I have come across a bird but never a cat. I don't know how it got in there but it couldn't get out."
Mr Manley also discovered a cat skeleton and the skull of a cat at the house.
He believed the cat had become mummified as the wall where it was found was so dry.
"There's no air movement, there's nothing to get in there and eat at it."
While he had no idea how long the cat had been there, he believed it could have been there since the house was built in 1955.
"Where it was, it couldn't have got there by itself. It's a bit weird."
Mrs Fraser, a Bay of Plenty Times photographer, was surprised by last Thursday's find but did not find it creepy.
Her 16-month-old daughter even wanted to pat the cat and made meowing noises at it.
"I knew our house was dry but I didn't think it would be capable of mummifying a cat," Mrs Fraser said.
She was unsure how the moggy - or the other cats whose bones were found - had got under the house.
Now, the family is unsure what to do with the cat's remains.
"If there are any takers, they can have it, otherwise we will probably just dispose of it."
Yesterday, a producer and musician named Barry Nickless, aka The Entity, asked to borrow the corpse to use in a music video.

I found a hickory farms gift box with my spare tire a year after I got my 91 RS. Complete with summer sausages, cheese logs, strawberry bonbons (yuck), crackers, etc... Still wrapped up and not yet expired.... Getting a flat in that car bites the big one, but at least I had a snack while I waited for my new tire.

So you'd never looked in there before getting a flat? Lucky you even had a spare. A previous owner kept mine, same with a lot of us.

It had runflats when I got it, so the thought hadn't occurred to bother looking, no. I'm surprised you questioned that, but not the fact that I ate sausage I found in my car...

Under both driver and passenger seats, about a dozen Marlboro Red empty cigarette packages, about half a dozen Budweiser tallboys, some pain killers under the back seat... and in the passenger floorboard.. a pile of vomit. Lovely.
An old, rather homely looking guy kept staring at my car from different angles at a gas station about a year later... I walked up to him and said hi, curious what the hell he was doing. He says "You get this from Gabby?", I replied "Yeah, about a year ago." He told me it used to be his car.. and then asked how I got the oil pressure back. I told him I put a mechanical oil gauge in and it works fine. He immediately got pissed off.. couldn't help but laugh as I drove away.

Re: No doubt a pointless thread, but what's the weirdest thing youv'e found in your c
In my 1984 SC or whatever it is, i found a massive amount of glass under the rear seats, half the trim in the back, folding sissors with weed stuck all over the blades in the console, an autobody receipt from 2002 with a female's signature (i bought the car in 2005 and it was sunfaded and didn't have a shiny spot on it), earplugs, a beer bottle cap in the defrost vents, but the worst was not inside but underneath. The v6-v8 swap with a th350 had a welded on 1/4 inch steel plate for a tranny crossmember and torque arm mount that was real pain to remove.

This was not in my 92 RS, but I am also restoring a 69 Cougar XR7. It had literally been sitting in a field near Cumming, Georgia for about 5-6 years. I bought it, towed it home, and started the cleaning out of the interior. On the rear window shelf, a previous owner had cut a beautiful (NOT!) piece of red **** carpet to cover the old weathered cardboard shelf. In addition, the remainder that was left of the carpet after he cut the piece for the shelf was rolled up, and it was rolled around a small white bag.
When I pulled the carpet roll out of the window, it unrolled, and the bag fell out. It turns out it was a Christmas gift bag, with a To: and From: tag on it. Inside was a bag of pot, with roaches, and a hemastat for smoking the roaches. Someone had given another a bag of pot, and he had been storing it in the Cougar.
Below is the Cougar as I started stripping it, and my daily driver, the 92 RS.

I found the passenger seat to have a great deal of what i thought was blood. Underneith the trunk carpeting were a few random bags of pills some crushed some still whole! Their was a knife in the spare tire area and underneith the whole front carpet was cigerette butts like under both seats under the carpet hundreds of cigs! Car was in 13 different hands before mine so that might explain somethings.

- The privious owners grage door opener (Never returned my call asking to return it)
- A T-shirt i'd never seen before in my life
- A money clip that says "Never drive faster than your guardian angel"
- There was a piece of cardbord (roughly 4x6in) stuck above my muffler.
That's about it.

Not werid but deffenently anoying. When i bought it in the trunk was a double rows timing set and a harmonic balancer puller. Then within the year my cam sprocket shreads. When I pulled it apart it still had the stock sprocket and chain. The PO bought the stuff to replace it but never did.
Also the passenger side door was full of glass, they replaced the window but didn't bother to vacum up the old window.
And a spare intake manifold.

1. 20 bucks that actually bought me parts at that yard!
2. POUNDS of play doh LOL
3. pics of some guys girlfriend in very unique poses.

When I bought my car I had to clean out the inside, and found some empty shells from a .22, along with one live shell.
I ended up having to do the clutch 2 days later, and was a little surprised to find more .22 shells lodged between the tranny and frame!

My cardboard is gone, I gutted the interior. I see we have another tool bag here, who most likely depends on a 90's car as his DD, yet, will insult it.
I wonder why so many trolls choose to target an oddball car, such as third gens.
What'd you do, buy a Civic, and become amazed with the infinite power of VTAK? Get lost if you're going to insult a car, which this forum is dedicated to.

My dad was the previous owner so i know the history, but, when i cleaned the k&n air filter i found a whole roach that was the size of two fingers. I guess cause it was sitting in the garage so long it made a home. Who knows what the hell was living in that thing. My dad also kept all his cassettes so idk whats on them(cassette deck doesn;t work on stock radio). Nothing incriminating, cause i would torture him for it. And for some reason i can't get that factory smell out of the car. It smells like it came from the factory and i tried everything. I put 3 air fresheners at once aired it out and still smells like the factory!
