Under the seat I found a cig butt wrapped in a lumber yard reciept that was older than I am, a cassette tape with a lady singing some like opera or something, and an Ipod touch.

When taking my heads off (L03), I found a valvespring retainer clip just laying in passenger side head. All the clips were on the retainers on the heads, so it must have gotten in there during assembly and stayed there for the next 22 years. Not really "weird" but odd to me

I found the legs from a Kenner Chewbacca figure from Star Wars under the back right passenger seat of my '84 Berlinetta. Not sure where the rest of him is...

I found some pieces of a jigsaw puzzle in my engine bay underneath where the radiator sits. Along with several cigarette butts. I alos found a note that the PO had written to his girlfriend with some song lyrics on it.

found a mystery wire hanging under the dash when stepped on (with my foot by accident) the car tried to start - previous owner did a ridiculously terrible rewire none of the original wiring in tact. Also found a spare tire that didn't fit the wheel by about a quarter inch. what a teaser!

I was feeling bummed all I found was a penny. Until I decided to rip my carpet out. I found a really nice brown recluse nest near the rear drivers side seatbelt. Do they make bug bombs for cars?

A couple years ago I got a project '66 F100 in a trade off Craigslist. I got it in the late summer so it was a while before I needed to turn on the defroster vent. When I finally did a whole mess of dead bees came shooting out of the vent. Needless to say a was scared s***less.
As far as my camaro goes it was sterile when I bought it. Which is surprising in its own right.

Love this thread so i might as well bring it up again.
In my '86 i found enough interior panels for 2 cars an extra fuel door and a metallic blue ribbed shift ****. A decal saying "heartbreaker" but it did have a giant rose sticker on the back glass so I dont guess the decal was much of a surprise. Oh and it had a door panel cupholder thing.
'91 just some neons
90 maro had diamond plate floor pans, a strainer, a pot, a lantern oh and the driveshaft
In my '89 bird I found all the bearings for the steering column hanging out all over the place, a pack of newports, various notices and bills, "lubricant" and a printed off conversation between the PO and his boyfriend were he was trying to convince him that he didnt have herpes.... I then removed the seats, carpet, center console, steering column, dash, headliner, sunvisors, door panels, and all other interior panels and covered them in gasoline and torched them

Re: No doubt a pointless thread, but what's the weirdest thing youv'e found in your c
I can't believe I didn't post again after I got the 88 back in April... Keep in mind this was a rolling chassis with no engine or trans.
Inside it were the following, nothing attached to anything, BTW:
A complete interior, if you count the spray-bombed tan pieces and added them to the Carmine carpeted pieces
2 pairs of tan front seats (passenger's side seats nice, driver's side seats heavily worn and one looks like a dog or something got at it... 2 different upholstery styles, BTW, only one pair matching the rear) and non-split rear seat back AND tan door panels which had overspray on them from the dyed interior panels
Full set of tan rear lap belts, only male ends of the Carmine rears and passenger's side Carmine front seat belt retractor assembly (no driver's side or receivers)
Only had passenger's side A-pillar trim installed. NO HEADLINER, though. And I think maybe only one visor...
The only part that was attached to something was the dashboard lower support brace. NO DASH.
Instrument cluster missing a gauge (I think it's the fuel gauge), the black bezel, and the lens
Assorted shaped pieces of bright red carpet that I'm not even sure was automotive carpet (but no carpet belonging to the car)
2 center consoles, one broken and neither with carpet, one from the car from the factory and the other from an 87 V6 (yes, both have the RPO stickers!)
Automatic shifter (car is a manual car!) from some car or other with shift plate and cables still attached
Spare parking brake lever (need to find that thing and see if it has the park brake warning light switch attached...)
ONE POWER DOOR MIRROR... Passenger's side, I think (car has manual mirrors from the factory)
TBI strut tower brace
Dual-snorkel V6 air intake (from the 87, I'd guess) with MAF still attached (bad)
Bag of assorted bolts I'm not even 100% sure came from the car
Extra headlight assembly brackets
Some sort of seat bolt cover for front seats in some GM car or other (only one)
Car had spoiler removed... Found the driver's side end of the 3-piece spoiler
Spare gas door
2 torque arms
At least 2 track bars
Around 2 sets of LCAs
The dead factory Koni Yellow shocks
Spare tire inflator canister
Someone replaced the front driver's side section of the floor pan... Not too well but good enough
And that same someone drilled around 30 holes in various places in the floor pan. And pulled out at least half of the plugs where the floor was set onto the holding fixture at the factory...
And apparently someone left the driveshaft loops on the companion flange loose and the shaft broke loose at some point... It tried to eat its way into the car at the rear of the shaft tunnel.
On the exterior:
Bolt-on SFCs not bolted to rear LCA mounts (were left hanging)
ALL rear suspension hardware loose! Good thing we towed it from the rear!
Torque arm removed from rear axle (Put that back in before the car was pulled onto the dolly!)
Any and all metal fluid lines running to rear of car cut off under the rear of the doors (approximately). Along with the parking brake cables, which looked to be BRAND NEW
IROC 16" rims that don't quite fit on the factory drum rear axle. WITH 10 LUG NUTS MISSING!
But nothing too weird, I guess. Also, I clean out my cars before I sell them. Including vacuuming. I only leave the stuff that's supposed to be there, so nobody would be getting lucky finding weird stuff that I already knew about...

Re: No doubt a pointless thread, but what's the weirdest thing youv'e found in your c
Ok, I had an 84 Trans Am one time and when I went to do the heater core, I found an older maybe late 80s coca-cola can half full up inside the dash on the passanger side. Guess someone else was doing a heater core, having a refreshing drink and just left it in there. It was wedged upright nicely.
I found a pair of mint gray colored gloves with the GM insignia on them under the rear carpet in my current '82 Trans Am. I also found an ant farm in the 82 Trans Am, but not the kind you're thinking....THE CAR was an ant farm. Noticed a couple ants crawling on it when I picked it up, but didn't think anything of it since it was parked under a tree...til I got it home and drove it a couple of times. Long story short, had to gut the car to a shell, power wash, spray for days, then put it back together. There were at least a million ants living in it maybe more, I don't know. They were all up in every channel of metal, plastic, you name it, it was a GIANT colony. To this day, I still think I see them out of the corner of my eye...even though I know they are no longer there.
Thank goodness it wasn't fire ants because I would have been dead.

I woulda had a much better time if it had been a joke lol turns out the PO had a TA tattoo on his lower back (almost made me reconsider my attachment to firebirds {Just to keep me from being persecuted I aint got no problems with anyones sexual orientation as long as you didnt own my car before me lmao}) and after all my friends confronted him about the letter I found he admitted to his male relations... but anyway... keep working on your 305 and if you get another car let everyone know what you found lol
this thread is the best
Oh on a 2nd note I found 25$ tightly rolled up and stuffed into the map pocket on a bird I seen on my last junkyard visit paid for my 100+ mile trip lol

Went to the junkyard today to rip out a interior..... Half way through pulling it I reach under the seat and grab something soft and harry... I pull out a spider the size of half of my hand.. Yes it was alive, yes it was pissed off. Didn't know we had huge spiders in Wisconsin. Needless to say, I stopped pulling the interior and left.

Re: No doubt a pointless thread, but what's the weirdest thing youv'e found in your c
Haha this cracked me up. I had a similar incident this year. Went to the junk yard looking for a gas filler neck rubber gasket/housing. Found a white 82 Camaro, opened the fuel filler door and saw a wasp nest that was wrapped around the filler neck (it was pretty much the size of the opening). There were about 10-15 wasps on it and as soon as I openend that door, all of their little heads rotated and looked right at me. I immediately closed that door and walked away. I didn't need the part that bad!
I remember opening up a 1980's Range Rover Classic my dad's friend had a couple years back. All kinds of ants and spiders and wasps in and around the car. He got rid of it because it was so bad.
Shame because it used to be a nice Range Rover.

Luckily down here in Georgia it's rare to see a spider more than about 4 inches in length. We got the wasps, bees, and flying nuisances though!

Now my feelings are hurt as they were huge when I was growing up.. Now that I am almost 1/2 way to 100, I still enjoy their music one in a while. Luckily I bought my IROC brand new in 88 so I didn't have any surprizes in it.. I did have a friend many years ago that had several toyota emblems and logos stuck below his dashpad. I still wonder today if that is why I quit talking to him over 2 decades ago.

Opened up the rear storage compartment in my 88, found about 100' ft of that cheap yellow plasticy type rope, roll of electrical tape that basicly turned to mush when i touched it, some tools (rusty screwdrivers mostly) and most of the missing hardware from the dash and rear panels.

I've heard story's here around Milwaukee of people buying police auction cars that were seized from drug dealers. Many people supposedly found wad's of cash, bricks of drugs, and guns. Would be cool to find some guns and cash!

I had about 1 inch of oil in the whole floorboard(not exaggerating) and a cam to a 305 that was in 4 pieces. 3 pistons 1 with a hole threw the top of it a busted timing chain 2 timing chain covers a set of valve covers a power steering pump that I can't find out what it's to. A large piece of lime green **** carpet. Rocker arms that were bent like crazy. A huge rat nest with about 12 dead rats and few condoms a tampon(not used thank god) That's about it nothing to crazy

What i found was pretty bad... I found a ounce of old weed under the carpet, and some vaseline, I smoke myself, but this stuff looked really old, surprised it was still there.

I don't think I would be saying that on the internet, guys. Neither TX or WI have legalized it (yet). If a cop nearby saw that he could bust you for it.

The cops honestly couldn't do nothing about. I don't have any weed or have any in my system. Just joking around saying what we would do, is like trying to arrest a comedian for saying a joke about weed.

speaking of which the best hiding spot ever was on my first third gen, a 89 firebird the middle part of the steering wheel pops out. I remember a time cops searched my car and i had some green stuff in there and they didnt find it.... ah the late 90's ruled

The weirdest thing I have found in my car to date would be my roommate.. He wanted to see my car, and I told him to meet me at our shed where it's being stored. When I got there I found his car, but not him. Went inside and sure enough, there was the goofball sitting in the driver's seat making "VRRROOOOM VROOOM!" noises and playing with the shifter like he was driving it... He is BY FAR the weirdest thing to ever be found in a thirdgen
