Re: 15 in subs

Your gonna hafta build your own box to fit in the rear well, with an angled top, wide enough to fit your 15" sub in to.

This will get you started......
https://www.thirdgen.org/subwoofer

And.....
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/car-...l-sub-box.html
Use the feature here on TGO & you'll find TONS of info. Not much chance of you not finding your answer already here, short of things like new items or technologies.

TGO has been here, in this latest creation, for about 13 yrs. It is much older, but had much less info & wasn't kept up very well, by it's owner. So Thirdgen.Org was created.

Re: 15 in subs

Youp gotta build your own box. But at the end of the day it will be cheaper than having a custom box made at your local shop. Not mention not alot of people put 15" subs in camaro's. Good luck

Re: 15 in subs

This was a buddy of mine who put 2 18s in his bird. It will definitely work but YOU will need to get creative with the box and placement of the subs.

tons of these on ebay. It might not have enough airspace for your kickers though. although it says for 84-92, I am pretty sure it really fits from 82-92

Re: 15 in subs

First, figure out how much air you need for the Kickers.

You may discover that you don't have enough.

The ebay box only gives 1.8 cu.ft. per side.

You're not going to get much more than that.

Make sure to Dynamat....a lot.

Re: 15 in subs

this may be over-simplifying things here but couldn't you just get a 12" speaker box and cut the holes bigger to fit 15" subs?

Not really. 15s need more airspace than 12s therefore the box needs to be bigger. most of the 12 boxes arent big enough to even shoehorn the 15s in.

Hey im pretty much in the same situation here.I already have 2 Cervin Vega's 12's on a custom made box for Camaros, So I was just thinking of making the holes bigger & putting My 2 15" Kickers but it does seem like it isnt enough room in height, It looks like the bottom Magnet of the speaker is going to fit!!!Name: 207.jpg

Cut out the area between the 2 12" holes. Mount a new board on op of the box, leaving just the amount needed for the 15" to fit, cut 2 15" holes closer together so that the magnets don't hit those 2 "steps" inside and VOILA! Your 15"s now "magically" in a 12" speaker box.

Re: 15 in subs

Its a lid, like the OEM piece, made from particle wood.Didnt want to cut holes in my OE lid. Those are vintage free air subs, sound great, more than enough bass.

can you give me the measurements & dimensions of your sub enclosure for 2 15s? I'm going to try to build one on my own this weekend.
