camaro interior ?
a friend of mine picked up an 84 camaro berlinetta.
he was wondering if the zebra print interior(gray two tone) was rare
and if the tail lights are rare. the tail lights look like regular old 1s
and if the digital dash was a rare.
he also wanted to know if the whole car in general is rare

Re: camaro interior ?
There aren't many rare options on early third gen, but some are sure not common.
I'd be curious to see the digital dash, I've only seen it on the ad.
The zebra cloth is 84 only, someone correct me if I'm wrong. Not "rare" but hard to find.

Re: camaro interior ?
he junked the car but i managed to get some things off it before it was taken away. however the dash wasnt 1 of them, the onlything i remember being digital was tach and speedo. everything else was the regular needle gauges. which is pretty pointless for them to do. speedo only went to 85 which is useless compared to what i have been building.
he thinks hes going to make 250$ off the tail lights back seats and some parts of the rear interior.

Re: camaro interior ?
Thats harsh. I love the simplicity of the Camaro dash; Sure, its big and blank on the passenger side, but there is no other dash like it that I can think of. In comparison, I think the Firebird dash looks too busy, and I've never been a fan of all the light gray buttons on 'em... If the buttons/switches were a tad more modern, they'd probably look alright, but the style of 'em now just makes 'em look cheap, like toys. No offense, just sharing the other side.

Re: camaro interior ?
I saved an '84 Berlinetta fro m a junkyard once, only to junk it again at a later date, but that's a whole 'nother story.
Anyway, the car had a complete original dash.
That dash is quite rare. Maybe not desirable right now, but give it time. I wished I saved the one from my car. I can't right now for the life of me remember exactly what was digital. I didn't really have the car running much. However, the swivel cassette player, center console stack thing was pure 80's and for the time, was cutting edge. The numerous push buttons for HVAC, etc. surrounding the driver were also cool for the time.
I think in time, they will become desirable because they are a somewhat rare, different, and a sign of the times.
Your comment of the ugliness of the dash because everything is put right next to the driver and the rest is plain is more of a Camaro dash in general thing. Besides the instruments around the driver, and the stack in the center console, the rest of the dash is the same.
I know when I was younger I thought that the dash was pretty ugly too. The 90's dashes were sooo cools, etc., etc. Looking back now, every dash from the 90's, including the 4th gens, are ugly round plastic creations. They all look the same and they don't look nearly as good as they did when they were new.
What I'm trying to say, besides that the look is purely opinion based, is that what looks good right now, will not always look good 10 years from now. The camaro dash is functional yet different. It is plastic, but surely one of a kind. A well kept, CLEAN Camaro dash is a work of art. It is good looking, and take my word for it, in 20 years time when these cars truley are rare, it will be something that is admired. People will say "i wish they still made them like that."
Maybe it's just a getting older thing. Maybe it's just growing up, and somehow you don't need something new and 'flashy.' The simplicity of the dash is what makes it. It's all business and it works. It doesn't need curves or "ambient lighting" to make it.

Re: camaro interior ?
I just bought an 84 camaro berlinetta and it has the zebra striping. There were no z28's or IROCS in 84, so the berlinetta was the top of the line for the camaro form 82-84. Also the biggest engine size offered was the 305. If you have a 350 it was either changed or a special order.

Re: camaro interior ?
which plastics in particular? most should be identical, but a couple pieces did change (such as for the rear seat shoulder belt mounting points)
