My front driver seatbelt doesnt stay locked in place all the time.Im worried it may just come off and I get a ticket for not wearing my seatbelt.Are the 4thgen buckles direct fit replacements for our cars.Its easier to get those than trying to replace with 3rdgen.Would I also need the entire 4thgen seatbelt itself?Need to figure out if I can just repair them or invest in safer seatbelts all around.

I installed 4th gen belts in mine....BUT..in order for the bottom to bolt up and seat correctly...you have to replace the door dill plate with an older style door sill plate. Once you do that....your good to go

 

Which plate are you referring to..have any pics? 4thgen front and black seat belts are cheap on ebayIm going for black and grey theme on the inside of the car aswell.Maybe I can make a plastic plate and dye it grey all depending on why they dont fit right.

 

here is a search link to a few ebay auctions. Look through them...and you can see the difference between the 82-84 and the 85-92. You need the 82-84 sill plates to work correctly with the 4th gen seat belts

ok I see now.The seat belt comes out through the sill plate where as my 87 has a seperate cover that hides the bottom bolt assembly

 

yes sir, exactly. Not a huge deal....but for it to look "factory" the 82-84 sill plates are a must
