ACC carpets, do they shed?

I just got some samples of ACC carpet (the same brand sold on rockauto and 1aauto) and they shed like crazy.

Has anyone got that brand carpet? They seem like the leading brand in making them but the samples have me worried.

I just got a set for my '92 a couple of months ago. Yes, I noticed the shedding as well. Seems to be getting better recently, however. Maybe they shed for a while when new?

I got the samples too, and ordered some matching carpet to recover my console. I noticed the samples AND the roll of carpet shed a ton from the edges. Like you could literally just pull chunks off the edge. I took this into account when I recovered the console, and had no problems. ...as for the actual carpet kit itself, I didn't see any noticeable shedding. NOTHING like the samples.

The ACC carpet we put in my son's Camaro shed a lot! Not impressed, but it appears to be the best out there.

Mine shed for a bit the first couple of vacuums. I don't notice it doing it anymore, but I will pay attention next time I have the car out and I clean it and report back.

Wow thats disappointing, I didnt know it was such a common problem. I was hoping it was just a fluke. They do seem like the best brand out there so I guess Ill just have to vacuum a few times

I put ACC in my 96 Bronco. It shed for the first couple of vacuums, but after 2 years it's fine

I think they are the only brand out there. Every vendor you contact, whether it is 1A auto, Rock Auto or Hawks is selling ACC.

Re: ACC carpets, do they shed?

only thing available and my experience with several installs is that shedding is not a concern after the first few clean ups.

invest in some good window tint though, to keep the UV away...
