How to disconnect hatch pull down black wire to motor and contact sensor?

Started the barnfind Formula 350 (aka 'Freebird') and the hatch motor started humming loudly - but no pulldown action.

Popped the rear plastic panel to disconnect the pigtail. White terminal with the multi-wire harness to the assembly came off after tickling the barbs with a small screwdriver.

The single black wire to motor wasn't budging, nor was the connector with the harness to the contact sensing plate.

What is the best method to get these off so I can pull the panel for cleanup and get the assembly on the bench?
