Anyone know of a replacement or solution to a loose/stretched belt? My mirror motor spins and labors through a few cycles then starts getting better. Took a look and the belts fighting for grip. Wondering if there's anything aftermarket that'll work.

I've never even tested mine to see if it works. I know it gets power because the green light lights up, but I've never heard any noises from it. Where is the sensor?

There is a sensor on the front and the back.
I believe the motor is suppose to run when the green light is lit
Well I tested mine by shining a light into the sensor and it doesn't do anything. The little light above the near/far wheel lights up, but the LED next to the switch doesn't.
Did you rotate the wheel to the "far" position? This is the most sensitive setting. The lower the number, the stronger the light has to be. Even if one of the belts snaps. Sometimes you can hear the small motor, even if the mirror doesn't pivot.

yeah I tried that. I'll try it again and listen a little closer. Do the headlights need to be on, or does it make a difference?
The mirror reacts to headlamps behind you, not your headlights. Thats from the sensor next to the power switch. The dial affects that sensor.
The sensor on the back of the mirror works mostly in daylight as the sun is brighter than any headlight from a vehicle behind you (during the day). The headlights would not cause the mirror to change to night mode. At night w/ no sun the front sensor wouldn't really be working. So any headlights behind you would then cause the mirror to switch/pivot.
Another thing you may want to do is block the front sensor when you test the mirror. This will keep any daylight from over riding the flashlight on the rear sensor. Which ever sensor has the brighter light that sensor over rides the other
Found these on Amazon. The one pack where they all look the same I used for the smaller pulley and took the smallest one from that mixed pack for the larger pulley. The mixed pack are square belts but it works. My mirror works as those it's day one again. For a little over $20 I have a working automatic mirror.
