Your LB9 should have a return line. I think the LS1 tanks are made of some kind of composite, no corrosion. Thats why its better to go with a 4th gen tank.

Anyways, I've been waiting to see this car for a while. I'm sure it will be killer when they are done.

IIRC, the 1997 Corvette was the only LS1 design with a fuel return line...

Please ask them the details of the fuel pump. Are they using a 4th gen one or a third gen retrofitted into the new tank. My LS1 setup uses the factory lines that loop back to the tank. I need to know if the 3rd gen pump complex will fit into the fourth gen tank.

after a certain year the LS1's lost the return line for the fuel tank. I got that out of a Corvette Rebuild Book thing though, so im not sure on camaros...

But the reason im posting this is because im curious how you can have high fuel pressure without a bypass valve, where exactly does the pressure wind up? how is it regulated? and isnt that bad for the fuel, no circulation, heat buildup? guess not or GM wouldnt have done it.

Yes you are correct. The 97 fuel line is the only one with a return. My car has uses the pressure regulator as a by pass system. The correct pressure is still maintained at the fuel rail.

As far as the design goes. The probability of heat build up and vapor lock are significantly increased. The reason why they did it was because of emissions. The wanted to eliminate excess vapors in the tank. Luckily I have not experienced any of this. Once I thought I did when my fuel pump failed. Walboro high performance pump solved that problem.

I say lose the wing, I like everything else but it, it just offsets the car too much.

The motor is in the car, however Roy has not sent me the pictures of it yet, computer troubles.......

I'll bring it up once again when i talk to him on saturday.......

I have not driven the car since the first week of January, I live in Florida and the car is in Charlottle, North Carolina......So we'll have to wait and see.......hopefully within two weeks the car will be done i can pick it up......

A few hours later, expect some video of some crazy doughnuts in a empty parking lot......

An electric cutout is on the list of things to do, In the future I may install a hooker cat back system and at that time get a cutout for the exhaust......

I'll post the results of me and Roy's conversation on Saturday afternoon......

Gas tank is probably an OBDII deal. System monitors the fuel tank pressure and maybe varies fuel pump speed to regulate line pressure or something. Whole new deal with these cars, probably simpler to just change tank, plus get a much newer tank to boot. Sort of sounds like these guys know what they're doing. I wouldn't touch a job like that, life is too short. Be one hell of a car when done!

I'm trying to add this up in my head and I'm coming to about $8000 for everything, how much did you pay for the engine and tranny? I see them go constantly for $2500, that with the $2000 for labor and another $3000 for miscellaneous your looking closer to $8000. But by no means are you getting ripped off! I was debating building a monster 350 or going LT1/LS1 forever and am still undecided. I'm gonna wait until I see your cost and subtract labor costs and go at it myself. My car doesn't even run, it's crap actually, a project car in the fullest meaning of the term. Your car makes me anxious to get to mine though. Awesome job on the car.

On a side note, who is that beautiful woman in your avatar?

MERLIN

Hey man, if it isnt too much trouble would you mind cutting across to the other side of Atlanta and give me a look at it?

Seriously though, that will be one badass ride. I look forward to seeing you at nationals this year...

Kj Rockz- I never noticed before that you lived in Mililani. I used to live there when my dad was stationed at Hickam. Tell me, is that Safe-Way store still open down there?

Hey man I was up there picking up LS1 brakes for my 69 Camaro project and I saw your car, it looks sweet!! The A/C setup he has is pretty slick!! Also he currently had 5 spoke SS wheels on the back with the new rear and I must say... they look good on your car!! I told Roy he needs to send you that pic!! I know you want to be different but they looked good on the car!!

Nope, not drivable right now the wiring harness will take about 6-7 days to arrive to Roy.....

I was supposed to get pictures a while ago, still awaiting on them from Roy and post as soon as they arrive in my mailbox.....

Only thing left is the Nitrous, Wiring Harness and fuel rail covers.....

Are you running a stock suspension? What about a stock rear? Stock rear will probably grenade under that Ls1 especially with a shot of nitrous in there. Your stock rear is what a 2.77 10 bolt rear drum peg leg? (Same as I had) You got bawls man

Your ride will be very sweet
