DARN IT!

I found an LS2 on ebay (with automatic ). I wanted to bid on it so bad, but the seller didn't have any feedback, and I didn't want to get scammed.

Well, the auction just ended and it sold for $3,600. -kicks self in rear-. I should have bid on it!!!!

Check it out, ebay number 6037212060.

Dont kick yourself too hard if the seller didnt have any feedback. I have heard of quite a few people getting ripped off when buying engines (LSx particularly) on ebay.

Really? I didn't think rip offs were all that common. What kind of steered me clear of bidding was the fact that the auction said it was being sold by FBody parts. BUT, FBody parts sells items under a different user ID.

Also, the FBody parts seller (which seems more legit) doesn't have a phone number on their website.

Hmm...

That's probably because it's a direct copy of an auction Fbody parts did run!

yes rip offs are very common.. especially the ones where the only accept a cashiers check or money order.. Paypal can secure you. there have been at least 3 people on here that have been taken.

Be very careful.. I got scammed on a complete 9,000 dollar vehicle.. ended up in my driveway but was stolen, all paperwork was phony.. ebays new auction insurance had to pay for it.. but I still lost about 1k..

and yes the guy had numerous (but phony) positive feedbacks, etc.. etc.. etc..

You bought the car and the B*st*rd stole it out of your driveway? Lets go lynch him!

What kind of car was it, if you don't mind me asking?

Add one from my work place that was ripped on ebay..$4000 for an engine that was never delivered. If it is a large price and I can not do pick up I have to pass. Any thing over an amount that I can throw in the trash and forget is to much risk on ebay.

I agree.

Another eBay scam to watch out for:
I was bidding on an LT1 motor that went higher tyhan I wanted to spend. Next day I got TWO second chance offers for my last bid on the motor. Both were from different email addresses, and neither one matched the address of the seller. When I contacted the seller, he didn't send either of them.
