Intake and dist. question
About to put an LT-1 in a 93 chevy truck.Questions are,will a regular performer intake fit or do you need a special one?Also,does the lt-1 have the provision on the cam to run a regular distributor?Thanks

Not sure but I think a regular intake would fit because I know you can take an lt1 intake and use it on a regulare small block. One question I have is how are you pluging the whole in the front timing cover and is there something you would have to do with the drive for the opti spark.
Also what advantage would you get by doing this I think it would be easyer to trade with someone for a regular small block than try to mod this block to work for you. Or just swap the entire thing in that way you would get the advantages of secwential fuel injection.

No, no, NO! It won't even come close to fitting. Heads and block are different from Gen I, extensive modification required to get Gen I stuff on. Gen II carb intakes are available, yuck.
Why bother putting an LT1 into anything if you're going to downgrade it? Either install the LT1 as an LT1, or put in a Gen I engine and put your Performer intake on it.

How complete is it? Intake, injectors, harness, PCM, etc.?

Back before I made the decision to go LS1, I saw LT1's w/o harness/PCM and located several on eBay. But, I haven't looked lately.
