LS Swap?
I gave it some thought and i decided on the following engines from jegs, was questioning on which one to buy, but curious on if it would be acceptable in ct.
I drive a 1989 camaro 305 tbi and curious on emissons, inspection, dmv?

I don't know about CT specifically, but Federal law requires you to install all of the emissions equipment that is used for a certified passenger car with whatever engine you are installing in your chassis. So, you'd have to have all of the emissions equipment for whatever a Vette had with either of those engines installed. It can get involved and nasty (the evap system, for instance), but it is do-able.

Re: LS Swap?
so i'm better off waiting till my 25 yr mark hits and then do it? i was planning to wait since im still young and need to save but i was just curious. my father gets 30% off from gm dealers since he worked for one for 25~30 years.
once the 25 yr mark hits though i could just do engine and most minimal pulley set up? which would be better recommended in my cam for engines? just curious

Re: LS Swap?
The 25yr mark does not mean a car gets "an emissions pass" & no longer needs the emissions stuff.
Emissions are a FEDERAL thing, which a state cannot just ignore. The 25 yr mark only means you don't need to be tested anymore. Visually, everything still has to be on a car.

Re: LS Swap?
which means i could literally drive without emission parts, but technically i need to? I dont mind driving with a cat, but i dont see the relevance in needing smog pump, air tubes, etc. even 4 banger hondas dont have air tubed but they do run on 2-4 cats.

Re: LS Swap?
Yes, it sucks. Should be...Clean = Pass, regardless of what you have or don't have, but that it the way it is.
I passed VERY clean (at 175,000 miles), even without a smog pump (but a new Magnaflow cat). But everything else is there & LOOKS functional. Even my cat was technically illegal, since it did not have an A.I.R. on it, but they never said anything about it.

You don't seem to be getting what Stephen is telling you - it isn't what CT looks for or tests, the emissions laws are Federal.
"Full pull-out" means all of the parts you need for the swap from the donor car - not just the engine itself. Since you started this thread with links to Jegs.com, perhaps that's what's confusing you.
