gauging interest in my ls1 headers

Debating on selling off my 1 3/4" headers(3" collectors) that I made for the car. This was setup for an AJE tubular kmember and wouldn't fit a stock one. I'd include the motor mounts that I made for the swap so it would be a bolt in affair.

I'm doing this since I plan on making a new set of 1 7/8" headers with dual 3" exhaust and running a motor plate to have more room to make them fit. These fit a th350 and th400 with room to spare. Plenty of clearance around the shifter cable etc.

Looking for 600 shipped for the set.

Re: gauging interest in my ls1 headers and exhaust
any interest before this all goes on ebay? Got a few PMs on some pics, here's what I have at the moment....

header during buildup....

basically the bottom header tube on either side was placed like in case they ever scraped to be easily cut out and replaced. Notice how much higher they tuck up than the hawks as well.

these were welded together with a mig welder so the welds aren't as pretty as a tig'd set of headers, but no leaks at all and the headers have been painted with VHT high temp header paint in the cast color you see.

So these will NOT fit a stock K member?

Re: gauging interest in my ls1 headers and exhaust
it would need the front tube on either side moved I'm guessing to fit properly. I built them so the starter could be removed without dropping a header along with installing the headers from below without having to lift the motor like some swap headers entail. You "could" also notch the kmember possibly to fit, but I have no idea how much would have to be removed. I have tons of clearance around my tube kmember, so it might not be that bad, but again they were made for my AJE kmember and I fabricated my own mounts which can be included in the sale as well.

Re: gauging interest in my ls1 headers and exhaust
looking for $850 for headers and exhaust to just pay for the materials for my new headers that I plan on building and a short true dual. I made the exhaust in 2 pieces that has 3 bolt flanges so it could easily be broken down and reassembled at any exhaust shop rather cheaply. I am running a stock crossmember, notched the lower lip on the passenger in the front maybe 1/4" for more clearance and that was it. Works great.

Re: gauging interest in my ls1 headers and exhaust
ya if these don't sell then they'll go back on the motor until the fall and I'll build a new set there, I'm just selling these to break even on the next set of materials, not even including labor on it. I will probably just tack the next set in place and have someone tig them then get them coated as well.

But the set I built should last quit a while and tucks higher IMO than the hawks along with not having any trans clearance issues.

Re: gauging interest in my ls1 headers and exhaust
That original picture was the full length of the collector out of the box, obviously you cut them back quite a bit before welding on a collector ring.

Look at the pic of the oil pan, just barely lower than it, if I was going to scrap something I'd rather it be the headers than lose the oil pan Thus why each header has one tube lower than the other for easy cut out and repair in case that ever were to happen.

I thought the Hawks tucked up pretty well.

I'd consider your headers for my upcoming LS1/4L60E project, but I'll be using a stock K-member.

LOL, in that case, i hope i destroy a 150$ oil pan than my 800$ hawks headers!

I am dying to see what it is going to sound like with the 1 chambers, what muffler did you have?

Re: gauging interest in my ls1 headers
My buddy put on a set and they didn't tuck up nearly that nice five7kid, maybe they've done a redesign change. But I looked at his and mine on a lift the same day and mine tucked higher, I will say this though, no spark plug issues on mine like yours has It's crazy they shaped that pipe like that, looks like the angle is completely off on the bend in your post.

I had dual turbo mufflers, I prefer my cars to be mild sounding but perform well. I hate 99% of the builds on ls1tech that have "mufflers" that don't muffle a thing and just sound raspy all the time. I'd much rather knock a mild steel tube that could be replaced for under $80 at a welding shop than lose oil pressure going down the road and trash a motor.

Agreed, no particular reason the tube has to sweep back that close to the #3 plug.

LOL, i am moving up from straight pipe!!! Gimme some credit! LOL

If my oil pan hits, then there are going to be some more serious issues than just oil pressure loss, LOL.
