Re: 5.3 swap

the Silverado alternator is just fine. You need the '98-'02 LS1 F-car oil pan.
trans crossmember depends on which trans. If you're going 4L60e, then a 700R-4 crossmember will work perfectly. If you're going T56, then IDK.

answered in your other thread

you will also be better off getting an LS1/LS6 intake, f-body accessory mounts and use f-body accessories, plus swap mounts.

Nope, the trans mount for 4L60E is moved 2" back from the 700R4/4L60 position. Modifying the stock crossmember to work isnt hard, just dont expect it to bolt right in

Be aware the harness must be built around what alt you are using. Fbodys used a 1 wire alt, early LSx trucks 2 wires, later LSx trucks and vettes used a 3 wire alt. None are compatible without the related wiring

Be aware the only part of the 5.3L engine you can really use is the longblock. All the accessories, intake, pan, exhaust etc will not fit. You need Fbody parts to make it fit best. Some C5 stuff will fit ok, but the cost is higher

Re: 5.3 swap

That can't be right, unless you're using a later 60E with the 6-bolt tailhousing, but those suck. Those have a removable bellhousing.

Re: 5.3 swap

You need the Fbody accessories. Fbodies mount the alt low on the drivers side. Trucks mount it up high above the hood line

Stock fuel lines can be modified to support the LSx engine, but its easier to run new SS lines from the tank forward. Diagrams with PNs are posted in the sticky

1 of my friends is parting out his 84 camaro berlinetta.

how much do u think he could get for the digital dash and the zebra print interior. its all in perfect shape except driver side seat is ripped and the dash pad on tip on driver side has a piece busted off.. barely noticable
