Cam angle sensor connector trick

This little connector is causing me lots of headaches. Apparently I should have put the harness in first, then the intake.

Does anyone have any tricks for hooking this up without removing the intake? BTW, I have a 92mm FAST, which probably doesn't help matters

Re: Cam angle sensor connector trick

If I remember correctly... that one is a bit of a bear to get in with the intake on. Stock or otherwise.

I think I shaved some of the release tab down to make it snap in easier. Just the part of the tab that is angled up so you can grab it. But since you cant really get your fingers under there anyway, I usually use a screw driver to release the tab.

Not sure if that would help you or not...the 92 might be different than my 90.

The wiper motor is not the issue. I can get my hand with the connector down there (barely) but the connector just won't go it.

Oddly enough the MAP sensor has a VERY similar plug... just keyed differently.

Have not worked on it, went the Carlisle swap Saturday and Rally Car at NJ Mortorsports Park today

maybe you should remove the cam sensor and make sure its the correct one for that pigtail or that the pins aren't bent. mine went right in each time

Re: Cam angle sensor connector trick

I think the intake removal is definite.

Are the intake gaskets reusable?

It would be a good time to glue a nipple where the MAP is supposed to go. Ill remote mount it. All the R&D for that intake and they fall short on the MAP mount. WTF.

Did you try shaving down the tab a little bit? The part that angles up?

Re: Cam angle sensor connector trick

I was able to get the CAS plug on after I trimmed the tab. The MAP sensor got a little RTV attention while I was there to.

Thanks for the help.

Re: Cam angle sensor connector trick

Glad you got er.

I hate the MAP sensor set up. Its just so hacky for such an expensive and overall nice intake. I never know if mine is sealing or not.

Re: Cam angle sensor connector trick

I used a 1/4" NPT tap and then put a bung on it. Makes for easy remote mount map.

Re: Cam angle sensor connector trick

I built a bracket using the bolt thats back there as a hold down. And used RTV. Im not saying that I def had a leak...but it was always suspect.

Ide rather have it attach via a hose and nipple, or some type of threads. When the motor comes out again I plan to make something that I KNOW isnt leaking and that is easier to remove/replace without disturbing the seal.
