Lt1 cam install
The good old lt1 is getting some work done for spring and i finally gathered some parts
Lt4 hotcam prw 1.6 lt4 springs
Victor reinz .26 gasket Can i use stock pushrod length for my setup still?

compcams lifters too

So can i use the stock pushrod length 7.200 for this setup with .26 gasket, and
what does that bring compression to? like 10.7 or higher?
I did some work to the heads. Not much but it should be noticable im hoping for around 350-360rwhp i dont think thats too optimistic

Re: Lt1 cam install
You might get away with the stock push rod length, but I would check to be sure.
Also make sure the dowel pin is at the correct length or you will go through the opti's

Nice thats about what i thought. Im not getting anywhere at all with this.
The head on the passenger side is still bolted on. I haven't even verified if its all okay under there lol this could turn into a much bigger project if i find something.

I think those are the best rocker arms they make use them all the time. Talked with a bro that ran alum. and he said they flexed so much at 8,000 that it put a valve through the piston.

Re: Lt1 cam install
Oh you know just being lazy i need to order a timing chain. i think im going with the cloyes 3145 as my stocker had way too much slack. And i have the ewp
I also think im going to get some pushrods and retainers locks valve seals and arp studs or bolts undecided. Also need oilpan gasket and timing chain gasket.
I know im slow... Also read some scary info on heads and cam on semi high mile motors and bearing warping causing spun bearings. Im not sure whether to opt in and build the motor entirely or after i spin a bearing
All in all i think ill ignore it and move on hehe will update tomorrow

Re: Lt1 cam install
Got some motivation today.
really want to drive this thing again.
Here she is as she sits... Got a new camera can't wait to get it outside

Heads are finally off!

Cam is out! New one doesn't look much bigger if at all
But the old one is wore out

New founders lca's relo brackets and adjustable phb

Another go around on these beautiful rockers and so cheap!

Still need to order gaskets and chain. Later today im going to clean up the other head and clean up the block grab some gaskets and a chain from autozone and then put this punk together

Re: Lt1 cam install
Okay so im having trouble deciding what im going to do about the chain.
My stock one has quite a bit of slop installed.
Should i just grab a replacement from autozone or what?
I learned i can't fit the cloyes 3157 because i have obd2 and the crank sensor.
its frustrating to be this far and not able to continue because of some cheap parts
Its begging for attention

Re: Lt1 cam install
Haha me too but then I broke pan gasket twice putting timing chain cover on.

So now its coming out... not anymore, finally fitted the pan gasket and cleaned off the passenger side pistons, put on the victor reinz .026 gasket and bolted the head down.

Checking pushrod length was late at night need to go out and do it again to see if its any better this is with the stock 7.200 pushrod. I really need a 7.1770 pushrod to be centered. With a stock gasket of .049 and the new one is .026 thats .023 so 7.200 - .023 = 7.1770 Right? but nobody makes that length... what do I do?
Heres the sharpie imprint I got showing the tip on the exhaust side

Got it all done. Having some minor difficulties with the pan gasket leaking
going to use my dads lift to get a better go at it.
And with the roller rockers screaching when they get loose lol crazy
best video of the sound. This is untuned feels way faster. My re-tune is on the way from Pcmforless
