Capping LT1 water pump elbows

I need to know a better way to cap off some elbows on my water pump. I have tried rubber ones with a hose clamp, but they always crack and either start leaking or pop off completely. Anyone have any ideas?

Re: Capping LT1 water pump elbows

for my lower radiator outlet on the water pump, i took out the elbow off and replaced it with a 3/4" freeze plug from NAPA.

Re: Capping LT1 water pump elbows

hmm thanks for the ideas. Im not really looking to buy a new pump. I may try threading the holes. I figured there would be some way to crimp a cap on the end of the elbow or somethings less invasive.

Re: Capping LT1 water pump elbows

hello I do also had this water pump issue. I was stick in a rubber grommet and put plastic caps on them. but as it turns out im now leaking form the weap hole. but befor that i had no leaks. im going to replace the pump with the 92 vette pump. cause it has less holes to cap off. hope this helps.

I just took a big rubber mallet and gave it a good whack. Its just held in by a hardner and once it breaks free it comes right out.
