Spohn Problem

Ok so i have a Spohn K Member and i had two problems, the first was not being able run A/C in factory location got that fixed, but the k member and engine dont sit level with each other. Any ideas on how to correct the problem? I added spacers in between the block and the passenger side engine mount thats seemed to help a little but it spaced the kmember out more than it pushed it up. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Car info:

Spohn Kmember and engine mounts.

If texting is easier thats fine with me 703 577 4730.

it seems that many, many members are having problems with spohn products. from what I hear from other members, is their products are not quite right, in one fashion or another. in my opinion, if you cannot buy a part that just works right WITHOUT having to re engineer the car to use said part. you have wasted money and time buying the part in question. I would throw it away .and really, a stock k member . that just WORKS . is way better than some BS you have to dink with.

Re: Spohn Problem!

This wont be helpful in fixing your problem; but spohn K-members are known for having these issues. They make some great products (lca's & sfc's) but their K-members have had lots of issues.

I'm not sure if anyone has ever tried to fix the slanted motor issue. Most usually just switch to a UMI k-member; some just live with the slanted motor.

Sorry for not being helpful, I just wanted to give you a heads up that your not the only one having issues.

too bad that spohn didn't see fit to be the ones to "make it work" another example of them not giving a fu$# about their customers. and man I emphathize, it sucks that you got had by them. if it were me I would take it off and ship it back to them with a nice note describing just where they could shove it.

I'd agree Rusty, but only after a few calls, or the "it's your problem" reply..

Real odd, Stephen made his name here on TGO starting with SFC's as I recall.

Too big for his britches maybe?

Re: Spohn Problem!

Best fix for the engine slant is to fab a new pass side mount

What kept you from using the low mount AC, the brace?
Did your alt clear the drivers side brace?
Do your tierods rub at full droop/high bump?
Is the main hoop significantly lower than the Fbody oil pan?
Wheels centered in the fender openings?
