no heater control valve on yours skirocz? Do notice much heat on the hot summer days with the fan off and slide **** to cold?
I hate to clutter up that frame rail for the couple of cold drives I make at the beginning and end of car season.
Sharp engine BTW, I wouldn't mind seeing pictures of your intake set up.

No heater control valve. I haven't driven it yet. We'll have to see.
My non auto 88 doesn;t have the shut off valve either, factory just used a simply u pipe. I likr the cleaner look. IT was only there on AC cars so the AC would operate more efficiently
They're from a 4th gen f-body, cut/sectioned/re-arranged to fit, some portions are from other cars.Mostly the straight sections. On the firewall one line has the original crimped hose, cut to fit.The other was too bulky to fit.Pump has two 90* hoses from the same 4th gen lines.Im using gates powergrip clamps to cut down on bulkiness.Trimmed the Hvac box to make room for the coil, which gave me space for the lines as well.
AC lines are part 3rd & 4th gen, basically the drier side is 3rd gen, comp side is 4th gen w/ pieces from other cars.I cut the ac line that ran under the compressor, plugged the hole. Then drilled/welded it so the line comes out next to the other line on top.
Any issues with that set up? I heard if the coolant isn't allowed to circulate through the heater ports it would cause an issue... What valve is that, is it electrically controlled?
Super simple, no control valve and no heat issues this summer at all. And I drove it a lot in the heat. Probably got a little carried away with the zip ties, haha.
Ii have not run mine yet but the valve was off my 87 305 carb z28 its vacume controlled . I drilled 4 -1/8" holes in the back plate of the stat. for flow. Ive heard you can use old sbc bbc tsats for circulation also.

Where did you run the heater hose from the radiator on the passenger side? It looks like you ran straight off the water pump to heater core, but I can't tell where the line on the radiator runs to.

I'd like to keep mine simple like that...
IIRC LS1s have a steam vent line that needs to tie back in to the coolant system. You can see it (what I assume is the steam line) adapted onto the radiator return nipple at the bottom of the picture... the 3/4"ish hose only 1"-2" long to the hard line taking a 90* to the lower right.

Likely the steam vent line, there are numerous ways we run them.

You guys are correct, the heater core is now straight off the water pump and the line that used to go to the heater core from the 3rd gen radiator is now the steam vent line that goes to the tee under the throttle body. I'm trying not to overload his thread with pics so check out this link, you can see it much better...
As far as the LS1 crossover line... I found this line on Amazon that just goes from head to head without a line to the radiator. Seems to me it would eliminate the issue of finding a location to run that steam line. Would this be a realistic option? Or would there be a cooling issue, seems to me this line is just to prevent air pockets in the cooling system. So coolant would still be able to flow from head to head. Thoughts?
Stock lines already flow from head/head, then to rad or waterpump, if you wish.I think the idea is to remove any air from the engine. So head/head would simply trap any air in the system.
mine...
High heat will degrade the rubber heater hose quickly. I would advise against routing hose down the firewall under AC box. That area back there gets hot with long tube headers.
